Martha McSally Wants Arizona Families to Give Up A Meal To Save Her Job

Martha McSally RINO Trump Enabler
Trump enabler and fake Republican Arizona Senator Martha McSally, apparently has decided that her re-election campaign is not going badly enough. So she has decided in a ironic move considering that she is a former combat pilot in the Air Force. To do her best imitation of a mad kamikaze pilot and destroy her campaign in a useless and stupid manner. As our readers might remember we had praised McSally two years ago for defeating two alt-right kooks in the Arizona GOP Senate Primary. So her decision over the last year to become a Trump acolyte has us more than a bit mad. But it’s her most recent act of stupidity that has us completely pissed at her.

McSally so far has been trailing her Democratic Challenger former astronaut Mark Kelly, both in the polls and in fundraising for sometime now. Rather than taking a good hard look at herself and their campaign and attempting a course correction. Old Martha seems hell bent on trying to scrounge up as much money as she can in the hopes that she can get elected to a full Senate term.

Earlier today a recording of Senator McSally making a fundraising pitch to her supporters on a conference call emerged. On the recording of the call, McSally starts out by complaining that her campaign is being outspent on television and that they are losing their “air war”. She even goes as far as suggesting that her supporters could fast a meal, and donate the cost of the missed meal to her campaign. McSally’s campaign and some of her supporters have tried to spin this as a joke. If it was a joke it not only fell dead, but it makes her correctly look like a desperate party hack hoping against hope that they will keep their office.

You all can check out this video about McSally’s desperation here:

We all here can just hear Barry Goldwater and John McCain shouting from their graves at just how much of a joke the once venerable Arizona GOP has become. The sooner we burn out the cancer of Trumpism, the better we as a nation will be.

Steve Bannon Runs Out of Covfefe and is Arrested for Fraud

Steve Bannon former Trump Chief Strategist/Future Prison Inmate

It’s been awhile since we have written on that Clown Prince of Trump Minions Steve Bannon. Although we had originally hoped never to write about Bannon ever again today’s events make us ecstatic to fire away at him again from the IR Batcave. We would argue that better people wouldn’t rejoice so much at the fall of such a washed up party hack like Steve Bannon. We are not better people, not today and not about Bannon. After all old Steve did say there was a special place in hell for Republicans like us who refused to back underage girl lover Roy Moore, he also had business dealings with sexual predator Harvey Weinstein. So given Bannon’s past sins we think we are entitled to indulge in some glee, while reporting on the news today that Bannon and three others were arrested today on charges of wire fraud and money laundering in connection with his failed “We Build the Wall Campaign”.  Justin Wise and Harper Neidig reported on the story for The Hill earlier today:

Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon and three others were arrested and charged with defrauding hundreds of thousands of donors who contributed to a fundraising campaign for a private border wall, the U.S. attorney's office for the Southern District of New York said Thursday.

"As alleged, the defendants defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors, capitalizing on their interest in funding a border wall to raise millions of dollars, under the false pretense that all of that money would be spent on construction," acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said.

The four men are facing charges including one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. Each charge carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.

Bannon, who also served as chief executive of President Trump's campaign in 2016, is the latest member of the president's inner circle to face criminal charges.

Needless to say Trump’s re-election campaign is probably not thrilled with the arrest of Donald’s former campaign manager. Regardless of whatever loyalty Bannon holds or held towards President Trump. True to form President Trump has decided to act as if Bannon and he were never close. Here’s more on Trump, Bannon and the “We Build the Wall” scam:

Following the indictment, Trump said he hadn’t dealt with Bannon “for a very long period of time.”

“I don't like that project. I thought it was being done for showboating reasons,” Trump said. “It was something that I very much felt was inappropriate to be doing.”

Putting the irony aside of Donald Trump being upset over anyone else showboating, Trump’s obsession with building a fantasy border wall is well documented. Readers of this blog might recall a year ago we compared Trump’s zeal to build a border wall at the Mexican border as being the equivalent of Captain Shan’s insane quest to slay Moby Dick. So him claiming that he would view Bannon’s scheme as showboating is a bit hard to swallow. Especially in light of the fact that many of Trump’s family members and associates are involved with the “We Build the Wall” campaign:

Trump was made aware of the “We Build The Wall” campaign shortly after its launch. Former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who was an advisory board member for the nonprofit established by the campaign, told The New York Times in January 2019 that the effort had received the president’s blessing.

“I talked with the president, and the We Build The Wall Effort came up,” Kobach said. “The president said ‘the project has my blessing, and you can tell the media that.’ ”

A website for the campaign still includes endorsements from the president's son Donald Trump Jr., former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and Kimberly Guilfoyle, a top fundraising official for the 2020 campaign.

So for an effort that Trump claims to have thought so little of her apparently had no problem with his son Don, Jr, one of his former campaign managers and Kris Kobach one of his chief toady’s shilling for it. Of course when you look at the charges filed against Bannon and his crew it becomes apparent why Trump would want to distance himself from Bannon.

Here’s more details on the charges against Bannon and the others:

Brian Kolfage launched We Build The Wall on GoFundMe in late 2018, quickly raising more than $20 million, before the site threatened to remove his page unless he identified a valid recipient of the funds.

According to the indictment, Kolfage, Bannon and Badolato then formed a nonprofit called "We Build The Wall, Inc." to receive the GoFundMe money.

Despite Kolfage's promises that he wouldn't be taking a salary, federal prosecutors alleged that the group of defendants schemed to pass along hundreds of thousands of dollars to him to help "fund his lavish lifestyle."

Kolfage allegedly took a total of $350,000 from the organization, passed through a series of bank accounts and nonprofits between January and October of 2019.

Prosecutors said one nonprofit controlled by Bannon received more than $1 million, some of which he passed on to Kolfage, while taking a "substantial portion" for personal gain.

Now none of us at INDY REPUBLICAN are attorney’s like our late great teacher and friend Gary Welsh or our friend and ally Paul Ogden. But based off what we can see it is not likely that Bannon and his three associates would have been arrested if the Justice Department didn’t think they had a good case against them. Things are look bad for Bannon & Trump. Knowing Bannon he will do ANYTHING to avoid prison even roll over on Donald. We have a few things to say to Steve Bannon: Steve, we really hate you. You are REAL HUMAN SCUM, but that being said if you have any brain cells at all you will turn on Donald now! He is already ditching you like one of the three rumpled jackets you always wear. Save yourself while you can. And by the way regarding their being a special place in Hell for us Never Trump Republicans, we are okay with that. At least we won’t be stuck in boring, generic, run-of-the-mill Hell! See you when you come up for parole Steve!

Shelby County Cold Case Solved

Here’s a news item of interest to all you true crime/cold case fans. It looks like some cold cases of rape and robbery in Shelby County might be solved after almost 38 years. Yesterday WTHR reported the latest developments regarding this case:

GREENSBURG, Ind. — The Shelby County prosecutor is preparing charges against Steven Ray Hessler, 57, of Greensburg in a serial sexual assault cold case. Hessler, who lives in Greensburg, was arrested Monday.

The prosecutor said Hessler is connected to a series of home invasion sexual assaults in Shelbyville and Shelby County between 1982 and 1985. There were a reported 10 victims in seven different incidents. Some of the incidents happened while the women were home alone and others while a husband or children were present. In one case, the suspect beat the husband of one of the victims so severely as to cause permanent disabilities

WTHR goes on to report some of the offenses that Hessler is being charged with spanning from 1982 to 1985:

  • Aug. 14, 1982 — Woman awoken after a man entered her home through an unlocked door. He had a knife and took money from her purse. He threatened if she didn't perform sexual acts, he'd hurt her young daughters. He also asked her to put on sexy clothing and assaulted her. The man said he was paid by her ex-husband to do this to her. If she reported it to police, he said he would come back and get her daughters when they were coming home from school.
  • Nov. 1, 1982 — Woman awakened after a man forced his way into her home. Her son was asleep in the bed next to her. Man held a knife to her throat. The man claimed he was paid money to come there and hurt her. He said if she didn't comply he would hurt her son. The man made her put on sexy clothing before assaulting her. He told her if she called police he would be back.
  • Dec. 16, 1982 — Two women were sexually assaulted, a mother and a daughter. The daughter was awake when a man entered her room holding a knife. He then forced her to perform sexual acts. The suspect also forced the mother to perform sexual acts and claimed he was a police officer. He tried to take pictures of the victims, but there wasn't film in their camera.
  • Feb. 2, 1983 — The suspect approached a man outside his home and forced them inside with a gun. He forced the man and a woman in the home to perform sex acts on each other. He told them he was paid to do this to them. The suspect also reportedly photographed the two victims and left with some cash.
  • Feb. 18, 1984 — A woman was in the shower when a man came in with a gun. The suspect asked the woman if she knew about his other assaults and bragged police arrested the wrong man. He told her if she cooperated, he would never come back. He photographed the woman wearing sexy clothing. The man threatened to harm her if she reported the incident. He referenced that she served him food at a restaurant one previous night. He left after taking a small amount of cash.
  • Nov. 25, 1984 — A man forced entry into a home and had a gun on him. He woke up the victim's daughter and forced the mother to perform sex acts. He took a small amount of cash and left.
  • Aug. 17, 1985 —  A man forced entry to a home and woke up to victims at gunpoint. He told them he'd kill them if they didn't do what he said and demanded money. The woman told the suspect she had a heart condition and faked a heart attack. The suspect then beat the male victim over the head with his gun causing permanent brain damage and physical disabilities. He then took the female victim to the garage and forced her to perform sex acts. He then threatened to come back and kill them if they went to police. Investigators were able to recover DNA evidence from the garage.
Hessler was apparently found as a suspect do to his DNA matching that of a DNA sample found at some of the crime scenes. It’s not likely he will be able to pay bail since his bond is set at $20,000,000.00. We are just glad that these cases appear to be close to being solved. Here is a video about the case:

Feeling Down? Rejoice for God Saves All!

Earlier this year we shared on this blog the core of our Christian faith. Foremost being our absolute assurance that Jesus Christ finished the work he set out to of being the Savior of the world. We will at some point in the near future return to more frequently blogging about the state of politics here in Indiana and the rest of these United States. However given the difficult times in which we are living. We felt that we needed to do something to light a candle, and not merely to expose the darkness. As if guided by the Holy Spirit we have come across this wonderful video that illustrates the truth of the Gospel of Christ. With big, bold text and the “Throne Room March” from Star Wars: A New Hope the truth of the Gospel is most excellently displayed! Watch this video, and as you do pray and ask God to see the truth and to work for the salvation of all mankind. Enjoy the video and God Bless You All!

Is Mike Pence Gay?

Our apologies for the lack of posts these past few weeks, everything has been so hectic! Before we return to our regularly scheduled programming we thought we would in a mildly serious way look into a weird video of Vice President Mike Pence that is floating around the internet.

Just this afternoon an alert reader of Indy Republican sent all of us a video circulating on line that shows Vice President Mike Pence looking creepily at his master President Donald Trump. Gay comedian Marie Connor had some funny commentary on the funny but creepy way that Mike Pence is fawning over Donald Trump:
Personally all of us here at IR don’t care what the Vice President likes to shove up his ass. That being said however it would be kind of funny, and not to surprising to find that old Mikey is gay. The reason we are not sure is because we aren’t entirely sure that Mike Pence is actually a man. We are half tempted to ask Ann Coulter if he knows whether or not Pence is a man. Time will tell if Pence is hiding the truth about who he is.

On Twitter someone put up this photo of Pence in a Village People type cowboy outfit. In fairness we don’t know if this image is real or doctored. But it’s just to amusing not to put up:

UPDATE: A reader sent us a clearer picture of Pence’s taste in western wear:

Donors to Mike Pence’s Legal Defense Fund Revealed. Also, Where Does Mike Pence Live?

Finally after three years of nail biting suspense, we finally know the identities of some of the people who helped pay Vice President Pence’s legal fees. Veteran readers of this blog might recall we wrote about Pence’s legal defense fund back in 2017. Thanks to USA Today writer Maureen Groppe we now have some answers. Needless to say there are some interesting characters to say the least backing old Mickey.

Maureen Groppe wrote on June 30, 2020 in an article going into more detail about Pence’s legal donors:

Vice President Mike Pence received nearly $500,000 from a dozen contributors to pay his legal bills from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, according to his annual financial disclosure report that was released Tuesday (June 29, 2020).

The biggest backers were Indiana Pacers owner Herb Simon and the California couple Michael Hayde and Laura Khouri who develop and manage apartment complexes. They each gave $100,000.

Other contributors include Pence's political adviser Marty Obst; national GOP fundraiser Ronald Weiser of Michigan; Florida real estate investor Leo Wells; Indiana businessmen Lawrence “Sonny” Beck, Paul Thrift and Tony Moravec; and Georgia businessman Brian McPheely, head of the country’s fifth largest corrugated packaging company.

The legal defense fund was created in December 2018 by Jim Atterholt, who served as Pence's chief of staff when he was Indiana's governor.

Pence hired an attorney, former U.S. Attorney Richard Cullen, after Mueller was appointed in 2017. But he was not billed until the end of Mueller's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election.

Expenses were paid last June and the fund was terminated in August, according to the disclosure report.

Atterholt previously told USA TODAY that he volunteered to start the fund because he doesn't believe legal bills should be the cost of public service.

Some of the names of Pence’s backers certainly have our interest peaked. A point of interest about Richard Cullen, Pence’s attorney. Is that Cullen is an old friend, coworker and godfather to one of former FBI Director James Comey’s daughters. And McGuire Woods the law firm Cullen works for is also where former Indiana Governor and Senator Evan Bayh works. For whatever reason Pence wanted a heavy hitter to represent him.

Back to some of the donors. We find it interesting that former State Representative, Indiana Department of Insurance (IDOI) Commissioner, Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission Director, and Chief of Staff to Governor Pence Jim Atterholt created Pence’s legal defense fund. Atterholt is quoted as saying he created the fund for Pence “because he doesn't believe legal bills should be the cost of public service.” That’s a side splitter Jim! You sure as hell were not concerned with legal bills when you forced out Paul Ogden at the Department of Insurance back in 2006.

Readers of INDY REPUBLICAN, Ogden on Politics, and the late Gary Welsh’s Advance Indiana blog, know that Atterholt is not the most ethical guy in politics. Gary Welsh and Paul Ogden have documented here and here Atterholt’s dubious conduct as head of the Department of Insurance, the head of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, and as Governor Pence’s Chief of Staff. There is an especially good post Paul Ogden did on Atterholt detailing Atterholt’s too cozy relationships with lobbyists and his willingness to commit perjury. When Pence named Atterholt to be his Chief of Staff that was an indication to all of us as to how useless he is as a public servant.

Although Pence has never been charged with any criminal conduct to our knowledge, he does act as if he is hiding something. We cannot think of any other reason he would hire such a high powered lawyer to represent him. Also even though Pence has been Vice President since 2017, he still has cast ballots using the address of the Governor’s Mansion, where even he admitted he moved out of in 2017  He even tweeted his moving pictures:

A recent article by Elizabeth Dye for “Above the Law” had this to say about the Pence’s use of the Governor’s mansion for voting:

“Does Governor Holcomb forward the Second Lady her Taste of Home and Good Housekeepingmagazines? Will Vice President and Mother Pence be bedding down in the governor’s mansion if voters see fit to evict them from Number One Observatory Circle in November? Will the Pences ever again pay their own electric bill, as they dutifully strive to cut the safety net out from under poor Americans?

So many questions! But apparently using their old taxpayer-funded digs, to which the Pences have no intention of returning, as their Indiana residence is perfectly legal.“

This raises some interesting questions especially since former Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White was convicted of voter fraud, all because he allegedly voted in the wrong precinct one time in his whole life. Pence and his wife apparently are allowed to vote using an address they no longer live at. Even if one buys the claim that Pence is allowed to vote from the Governor’s mansion due to his serving as Vice President, how does that extend to his wife Karen, who is not in elected office? Somebody should ask Governor Eric Holcomb if he knowingly allows the Pence’s to vote from his residence? And if so why, and also why should the Pence’s get away with blatantly flouting election law when Charlie White was shafted by Holcomb and Mitch Daniels? Do you have something to say Eric? Mike? Karen? Trump would be well advised to drop kick Pence’s ass off the ticket, otherwise the Democrats WILL go after Pence with a vengeance and help to sink Donald even further.

Let’s all just pray that for the devils bargain that Pence has made, that he is dropped from the ticket and must pay for his sins!

The Silent and Invisible Turnout at Trump’s Tulsa Rally

Tonight President Trump is supposed to be appearing at a rally at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to the President interest and attendance for the rally is going to be immense. Here’s what the President had to say earlier this week about interest in his rally:

If that’s true there are going to be a lot of disappointed people, since the BOK Center’s maximum capacity is only a little upwards of 19,000 people. Given the fact of the continuing issue of COVID-19 and that six people on Trump’s staff have tested positive for the virus. We are skeptical that the rally is going to be filled to capacity. Here is a picture of the venue just 40 minutes before the rally:

We may not be rocket scientists here at the blog. But that doesn’t look like a particularly good turnout to us. Of course there might actually be more people than it appears at the rally according to an observer on Twitter:

Well we suppose it’s possible that to troll us in Never Trump land, a lot of the attendees decided to disguise themselves as empty seats. And if true that would be funny. But unless something drastically changes tonight. We are confident in say this will be a YUGE disappointment for Team Trump.

Update: We normally wouldn’t update a post this fast, but there is just too much funny stuff to add not to. Here’s some more evidence of the lifeless, pitiful attendance at our Commander-In-Chief’s rally. Along with some good old humor at Donald and his campaign’s expense:

We swear if this is true, we are actually upset that we didn’t register for the rally and not go! Hell if there is still a way to register for this, we actually are going to do so!

The “Brad” they are referring to is Brad Parscale who is the grifter tasked with trying to save Trump’s re-election bid. No doubt he is going to get an earful from Donald!

We could keep going, but at this point we feel safe in saying the Tulsa rally is a complete dud.

Scientologist Actor Danny Masterson Charged with 3 Rapes

Danny Masterson, Actor/Scientologist AKA Accused Rapist

In a long overdue move the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has charged Scientologist actor Danny Masterson,  with three counts of rape. To those of us who have long been watching the Cult of $cientology, we are thrilled to see Masterson finally charged in this case. Mike Rinder the former International Spokesman for the Church of Scientology, now one of the fiercest critics of the cult had this to say on his blog:

I can tell you, the victims (of Danny Masterson) are extremely happy. As are Leah (Remini) and I. They will finally have an opportunity to have their day in court.

The details of the rape accusations against Masterson are too long and detailed to go into here. Instead we will link to Tony Ortega’s blog “Underground Bunker” for a more in depth look at all the strange twists and turns in this case. Also here is a link to Masterson’s booking documents. It’s said that the authorities have documented evidence that some in the Cult of Scientology knew about the alleged rapes. This is going to get very interesting indeed.

Here’s some reactions to Danny Masterson’s arrest from the web:

Wrong But Funny Tuesday

Rather than write about today’s primaries. We thought we would share a funny photograph we found online. As Paul Ogden reported on President Trump’s publicity stunt at pretending to be a Christian. Trump proceeded to use tear gas, and flash bangs on protesters as he made his way to D.C.’s Saint John’s Episcopal Church also known as the “Church of the President’s”. He then went on to awkwardly try to hold a Bible in his hand.

He has been widely ridiculed for doing so by various clergy. We found this photo that shows what thoughts are actually going through Trump’s brain. Spoiler Alert: It’s anything but spirituality that he is thinking about.

Here’s an inside look into Donald Trump’s head:

Yes ladies and gentlemen the class and grace that is our Pussy Grabber in Chief!
