Easily Fooled Opportunist Mike Pence should resign the Vice Presidency now!

Mike Pence praying that people are buying this bullsh@! he is peddling

Good evening everyone in cyberspace! Well we here at IR had thought we could give Mike Pence at least till Halloween to prove himself as Vice President. Old Mikey though continues to exceed the already low opinions we have of him. Only six months into what we hope will be his only term as Vice President. We honestly can say we have seen enough. Our advice to the Vice President is: "Resign now while you still can!" After countless denials of what is going on in the administration that he is part of. He is either a fool, a damned liar, or both.

In an article published on IndyStar.com today called "Vice President Mike Pence unaware of Donald Trump Jr's Russia meeting" Tony Cook reports:

"The Vice President is working every day to advance the President's agenda, which is what the American people sent us here to do," Pence spokesman Marc Lotter said in a written statement. "The Vice President was not aware of the meeting. He is not focused on stories about the campaign, particularly stories about the time before he joined the ticket."

Trump's oldest son released emails Tuesday showing he knew the damaging information he was seeking about Hillary Clinton was being peddled by the highest levels of the Russian government.

Told that the Russians had "incriminating information" about his father's Democratic campaign rival, Donald Trump Jr. responded: "If it's what you say, I love it."

The emails appear to back up the most damning revelation in New York Times reports that Trump's closest associates and family members actively sought information they knew was part of a high-level Russian government effort to support Trump's campaign.

Pence has repeatedly denied any contacts between Trump associates and Russia since taking office as vice president.

During a round of Sunday morning news show appearances in mid-January, Pence told John Dickerson of CBS' Face the Nation that there had been no contacts.

"I think to suggest that is to give credence to some of these bizarre rumors that have swirled around the candidacy," Pence said at the time.

That same day, Chris Wallace of Fox News Sunday, asked Pence if he had asked whether there had been any contacts between Trump associates and the Russian government or its intermediaries.

"Of course not," he said. "Why would there be any contacts between the campaign?"

A month later, Trump's national security adviser Michael Flynn was fired for lying to Pence about contacts with a Russian official.

Pence has also said he did not know Flynn had secretly lobbied for the Turkish government, despite reports claiming Flynn had actually disclosed to the Trump transition team back in January that he was under a federal investigation.

Pence was leading the transition team at the time.

Once again Tony Cook writes another article that is so good we can't figure out why he is still employed by The Indianapolis Star also known as the CIA's paper of record. He points out very well about how it is strange that Pence claims he didn't know that former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn had lobbied for Turkey. Even though it appears that Flynn disclosed this to Trumps transition team which Mike Pence was in charge of!

Also as we have chronicled on this blog several times. Pence spokesman Marc Lotter is not to be believed on anything. He is a former lackey of "Godfather" Governor Mitch Daniels and former Indianapolis Mayor "Boss Greg" Ballard!

Also his actions as Governor ranging from his stiffing the Hoosier state with the bill for Bicentennial projects, to picking Eric Holcomb as his successor, and appointing that dumb as a door post Rick Hite to run the Indiana Civil Rights Commission. These actions as Governor and his unbelievable denials and asskissing he has committed as Vice President show clearly he needs to leave political life entirely.

C'mon Mikey! You are obviously stressed out, and tired after rolling out of bed at noon everyday. Public life doesn't suit you. Find something else worthwhile and salvage something of your dignity. Just resign and leave Washington.

A reader of ours posted a comment back in May of this year saying: "MIKE PENCE IS POLITICAL MENTAL PORNAGRAPHY TO THE CRITICAL THINKER PLEDGING ALLEGIANCE TO RESCUE OF THE REPUBLIC." We of course are not sure what kind of porn they are comparing Pence to. It could be 1990's scrambled porn, midget porn, etc. Who knows!

Here are what some others think of Vice President Pence:

The Sgt. Schultz act won't survive. Jerry Ford without the lasting friendships, integrity or balls.4:53 PM · Jul 11, 2017 from Cannes, France

Exactly! @JWGOP This whole episode will amount to a very short resurrection of his career.

And when it's all done, we in Indiana respectfully request that he and his mother stay the hell away from us.

Oops! Mike Pence Did It As Well! The Day Mike Pence Became Hillary Clinton!

MIKE PENCE AS HILLARY CLINTON

Greetings Brother and Sister rabble rousers! As we have previously pointed out on this blog. The late great Gary Welsh compared Mike Pence with Rod Blagojevich. A belief we all share here at IR. But we never thought that we would ever be lumping Mike Pence in with Hillary Clinton but we believe that is a fair and accurate assessment of Pence given his ongoing email scandal and the fact that he used a private AOL email account to conduct state business on. We can all recall how former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton email scandal during her time running the State Department. Mike Pence's email scandal is a long and sordid tale, but it is one that must be told.  Miss Hussein is one of the only great reporters  remaining at the Langley controlled "Pravda Indianapolis"  Indianapolis Star. As some of you are aware Mike Pence has been fighting since last year to keep many of his emails he sent while he was governor a secret from we the people. Starting with Fatima Hussein's February 27th, 2016 article Ms. Hussein writes:

Vice President Mike Pence continued to fight to keep secret a political white paper emailed to him while he was Indiana governor, petitioning the Indiana Supreme Court not to review a public records denial for the controversial papers.
If opened, the communications could reveal a slew of Republican political strategies that Pence and dozens of other U.S. governors devised to fight former President Barack Obama and an executive order of his concerning immigration.
If the justices take the case, the court also could redefine the bounds of open, public communication for Indiana's executive office.

The case stems from a public records request made in December 2014 by Indianapolis attorney William Groth, a Democrat, who was gathering information about the former Republican governor's use of outside counsel for the immigration litigation and its cost to Indiana taxpayers.
Pence produced the requested emails “but those documents included substantial redaction,” including a white paper the governor failed to produce, according to court records.

The white paper in question contains legal theories used by many governors in their decision to join State of Texas et al v. United States of America, which challenged the Obama administration's executive order regarding immigration.
After Groth filed suit in Marion County Superior Court, a judge ruled in favor of Pence, saying the redactions the administration made to the public record were "proper."

This January, the Indiana Court of Appeals ruled that Groth does not have the right to view the political white paper, but disagreed with the governor's contention that it would violate the separation of powers doctrine for the judiciary to second guess the redactions.

That was an important finding to advocates of government transparency, who feared a Pence victory in the suit could set a broader precedent that would embolden future governors to refuse to disclose or heavily redact public documents with no court oversight.
Earlier this month, Groth petitioned the Indiana Supreme Court to take up the case.
Indianapolis attorney Greg Bowes filed the 19-page petition on behalf of Groth claiming the appeals court erred in determining that the white paper did not have to be released because it was "deliberative material" for the purpose of preparing for litigation.
Groth is arguing the Court of Appeals improperly applied the attorney-client relationship doctrine because the white paper was emailed to a wide range of people outside of the attorney-client relationship. He is also asking the court whether the court of appeals improperly created a "deliberative materials exception" to state public records.

Calling Groth's lawsuit "unfounded" in court documents, Joseph Chapelle, Pence's attorney from Indianapolis law firm Barnes & Thornburg, last week filed the 30-page response.

Chapelle told IndyStar that the appellate court majority’s decision should stand and that if the Supreme Court takes on the case, "it will be an opportunity for the court to clarify the separation of powers doctrine."
In the latest court documents, Chapelle maintains that Pence will use executive privilege as a defense in the future. "There are policy reasons for executive privilege," Chapelle said.
Groth told IndyStar Sunday that he wants to see transparency in government.
"Hoosiers are entitled to and should continue to demand more, rather than less, openness from all governmental officials, but especially from their governor," he said

The fact that Pence has an attorney from Barnes and Thornburg handling this situation is enough to make us think Pence is terrified of these emails being publicly released. Longtime readers of Advance Indiana and Ogden on Politics will recognize the name Barnes and Thornburg. They are the law firm that has represented the state in the FSSA Privatization debacle, also they fought like hell trying to save former US Senator Dick Lugar's butt! Word is that they went so far as to get WXIN the Fox affiliate in Indianapolis to spike a story about Lugar's residency issue that the station had planned to air in 2011 click here to read Paul Ogden's recounting of that incident. Other nefarious individuals associated with B&T over the years have included: Former Marion County Prosecutor Scott Newman and Democratic State Rep. Ed "Why Did I meet with some mysterious person in a Parking Lot" Delaney.  We are especially curious as to what Mr. Chapelle's reasoning is behind his claim that "There are policy reasons for executive privilege." That Pence is claiming as to why these emails shouldn't be released. For what policy is Chapelle referring to? And what policy could possible trump our right to know what Mike Pence was doing with the taxpayers money? This sounds a little to much like Nixon's bullshit claim of executive privilege during the Watergate Scandal!

Ms. Hussein wrote in her November 21, 2016 "Pence's legal team argues to keep emails secret":

"The statute (Indiana Access to Public Records Act) itself cannot get into the governor's personal papers," said Joseph Chappelle, Pence's attorney, from the Indiana law firm Barnes & Thornburg, referring to the legal bounds of the Indiana Access to Public Records Act.
Legally, the burden is on the governor to prove the documents are protected from public purview.

What we are curious about is if these were Mike Pence's "personal papers" as his lawyer says they are then why did he email them to 30 or so different people in several different states? Since it is Pence's job to show why these documents in question should be shielded from public purview it is reasonable to assume that he would not have sent such sensitive information to over two dozens parties! So either he believed they were sensitive at the time and chose to brazenly send them out to 30 people. Or more likely in as we believe he only adopted the stance that these emails should be kept secret when Mr. Groth asked for them. It is true that Pence's office had large amounts of his AOL emails that he sent out turned over to now Governor Eric Holcomb's office recently after he was called out on the carpet. But Pence's continued pursuit of keeping some of his official emails secret inspires no confidence in him. Pence might as well put on a blonde wig and a blue woman's business suit. Based off of his lack of transparency with his official emails the verdict is in. Mike Pence is now Hillary Clinton.

Update: WISH-TV has a story about Mike Pence defending his use of a private email account for state business. As usual his Propaganda Minister Spokesman Marc Lotter talks about how great his boss Mike Pence is. Click here and here for our past posts about Lying Marc Lotter.

Pence Team Drop's the Ball Potentially Derailing Holcomb's Campaign for Governor!

As stated in our last post. It appears Eric Holcomb the Republican nominee for Governor, may not be able to get much financial aid from Mike Pence's abandoned gubernatorial campaign.  In an article for the Indianapolis Star by Tony Cook written on July 26, 2016. Mr. Cook discusses how Eric Holcomb might be barred by federal law from being able to use most of Governor Mike Pence's campaign funds that Pence has left over from his 2016 Governor's campaign. Cook writes:

The bulk of the $7.4 million in campaign cash that Pence had in the bank at the end of last month would not be available to Holcomb in his run for governor, said Larry Noble, a former general counsel to the Federal Election Commission.
"Someone running for federal office cannot use contributions from their state account that would exceed the federal contribution limit," he explained.
Noble, who now works for the nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center, said Pence could give the restricted campaign money to charity or return it to donors.
Holcomb had only $20,000 in his own campaign account at the end of June, and he raised significantly less than his two primary opponents during an abandoned run for Senate earlier this year.
His top two competitors for the nomination for governor, U.S. Reps. Susan Brooks and Todd Rokita, boasted more money and better fundraising track records.
With about 100 days left before the Nov. 8 election, Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Gregg has $5.8 million in his campaign coffers, according to the most recent campaign finance filings.
Holcomb banked heavily on Pence's endorsement — and the campaign cash that could come with it — in his pitch to the state Republican central committee, which voted to nominate him Tuesday.
"That unambiguous demonstration of confidence by our Governor is significant," Holcomb wrote to the 22-member committee last week. "I know from speaking directly with him that his support is not symbolic, but rather it is a commitment to the financial backing, staffing, and resources available through the Mike Pence for Indiana Campaign Committee. That is something no other candidate in this race can boast, and Gov. Pence has made it crystal clear that he will assist me in maintaining control of the Governor’s office."
A spokesman for Holcomb's campaign declined to comment, referring questions to Pence's campaign.

All of us here at Indy Republican find this situation to be nothing less than a complete blunder on the part of the Pence campaign. As much as we would all like to blame Eric Holcomb for this. In all honesty and fairness this was a matter for Mike Pence and his campaign staff to handle and they all failed miserably! We all here know that if we were in Holcomb's place we would be extremely irritated at Governor Pence and his campaign staff. Especially in light of the fact that Holcomb only has a little more than $20,000 in his campaign account. While John Gregg reported $5.8 million in his campaign account! Also the Republican State Central Committee has good cause to be frustrated since no doubt. One of the main reasons they picked Holcomb was because of Governor Pence's endorsement of Holcomb and the committee and Holcomb understandably being led to believe that a noticeable amount of financial and campaign assistance would be available to Holcomb via the Pence Campaign!

Marc Lotter, a spokesman for Pence's vice presidential campaign, did not dispute Noble's analysis, which is based on two FEC advisory opinions from 2003 and 2007.
"Our legal team is looking into all the relevant statutes that may apply in this situation, and the governor has always said he will adhere to the letter of the law," Lotter said.
"One thing I can guarantee you is that Eric Holcomb will have all the resources he needs to become the next governor of Indiana," Lotter added. "There are a number of avenues and ways we can be supportive."
He declined to elaborate.

Ah once again Marc Lotter shows why this man should not be hired to run anything! Our readers might recall that we discussed Marc Lotter's many shortcomings as a campaign and government worker in a previous posting here. It seems odd that Lotter didn't have the campaign's lawyer's look into this matter before Pence had dropped out of the Governor's race! Why didn't Lotter just have Pence donate his $7.4 Million to the Indiana Republican Party before he withdrew and ran for Vice President? It would have given the Republicans a chance to give much of the money to whoever they would wind up picking to take his place on the ballot. And hence avoid being in a situation where the Democrats would have a financial leg up over them in the race if only a temporary one! As far as saying they can "guarantee" Holcomb will get all the help he needs in his race. How is anyone supposed to take Lotter seriously? Surely he could at least say something as to how Pence and his campaign plan on helping Holcomb avoid losing in a possible landslide because Holcomb didn't have enough money to keep the lights on at his campaign HQ!

Lotter is also said to have denied any mistakes were made by the Pence staff. Does Lotter seriously think we the people are so stupid as to think that no mistakes were made by him and/or the Pence staff? The only way that would be true is if they were only planning on endorsing Holcomb but not offer him financial support. Which seems to be at variance with accounts suggesting otherwise. Two other high profile candidates who were competing for the Governor's office have more money and potentially better campaign infrastructures in place already. Congresswoman Susan Brooks has $1.4 million ready to spend. The other major contender Congressman Todd Rokita has $1.3 million on hand! Since both Brooks and Rokita represent decent size congressional districts and Rokita has twice been elected statewide as Indiana's Secretary of State. They already had some functioning campaign in place. True Holcomb is Lt. Governor but he has only held that post since April. And only took it after he failed to raise very much money for his bid for the Senate earlier this year. He is also hardly a house hold name. If the committee had know in advance about most of Pence's campaign funds now being off limits to the state party. They very well might have picked either Brooks or Rokita. A candidate that actually had some money, had some experience winning elections, and actually has a track record of being able to win an election! Instead of someone who lost badly the only race they ever stayed in all the way!

On Friday WRTV reported that former State Representative and current State Auditor Suzanne Crouch was the new candidate for Lt. Governor. If the rumor mill is to be believed this mess up by the Pence staff even resulted in a change as to who Eric Holcomb picked to be his running mate. Sources originally indicated that State Treasurer Kelly Mitchell was going to be tapped to run for LG. But due to the sudden need to raise vast amounts of money on short notice the State Auditor Suzanne Crouch was picked instead. We here at INDY REPUBLICAN would like to acknowledge that several years back that then State Rep Suzanne Crouch and State Senator Vanetta Becker both Republicans had the resolve to stand up for the voters and look into the bungled privatization of FSSA. The smart money says that if the Holcomb-Crouch ticket does win in November that Holcomb will try to cut Crouch out of his inner circle. On account of the fact that Crouch is not a party hack. That maybe easier said then done! Mrs. Crouch has shown tenacity and resilience that has been sorely lacking in Indiana lawmakers of both parties. And is unlikely to just roll over for anyone and she should not! The staff here at INDY REPUBLICAN must hand it to Governor Pence and his people they accomplished the impossible they actually make all of us here feel some sympathy for Eric Holcomb! Arrivederci Mike!

To Be VP or not? The Ongoing Soap Opera Called Mike Pence

Hello Everyone! The staff here at INDY REPUBLICAN hopes you all had a safe and happy Fourth of July! The staff wanted to write this post yesterday. But then  decided to wait till today to see if anything unfolded on the possibility of Mike Pence running for the hills becoming Donald Trump's Vice Presidential Candidate. Brian Eason wrote a column in the Indianapolis Star yesterday that says that Pence would have to abandon his race for Governor as State law does not allow him to run for both Vice President and Governor in the same election. Eason also points out that the Indiana Republican Party only has until July 15th to pick a replacement for Pence on the November ballot for governor. Governor Pence met with Donald Trump in New Jersey over the weekend. WISH TV's website has a page where Jim "Shill" Shella says the two most likely candidates to replace Pence would be Lt. Governor Eric Holcomb and Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosma. Eason claims in his article that Pence would help Trump out with social conservatives who have not been warming up so far to Trump's impending presidential nomination. This has the staff here asking the question "What Planet Does Brian Eason Live On?" Is Eason seriously unaware of how unpopular Pence has become with voters all over the political spectrum in Indiana! According to Marc Lotter a spokesman for the Pence campaign Eason quotes Lotter as saying: "They (Pence and Trump) talked about policies that are working in Indiana and the future of this country." Lotter also added at the meeting that "Nothing was offered during the meeting, and nothing was accepted."

We will be get back to the speculating about Pence and Trump shortly. The staff felt obligated to share information about Pence's spokesman Marc Lotter that was sent to us by one of our readers. Longtime readers of Gary Welsh's Blog Advance Indiana may remember this post that he did on Marc Lotter back in 2014. In the post Gary Welsh said of Marc Lotter that whenever he "opens his mouth there's a good chance he is lying since the ability to lie seems to be the principle attribute of most spokespersons for politicians." Our reader direct our attention to Lotter's LinkedIn profile. His profile lists among his past positions having been Indiana Communications Director for John McCain's 2008 Presidential Campaign. Which went onto be the first Republican Presidential Campaign to lose Indiana since 1964. He is also listed as having been Communications Director for Indianapolis's Former Fake Republican Mayor Greg Ballard from 2010 to 2015. And he has been employed as Deputy Campaign Manager for Mike Pence since May of this year.

Several things come to mind in light of the above mentioned facts about Marc Lotter. Such as Why in the world would Pence hire a man to run his reelection campaign when he totally screwed up royal with the only other campaign he has had any high profile position with? Also if you want to shore up your support among Indiana Republicans why pick a man who served as a Spin Doctor for Greg Ballard who is not very well liked by many Republicans?  And as for Pence's campaign management why didn't Lotter tell Pence not to meet with Trump at all? As Jon Easter points out in a very well written post Pence in no way benefits from any association with Donald Trump at all! Paul Ogden also has written well of the pitfalls that Pence has when dealing with Donald Trump.

Since Trump is supposed to be coming back to Indiana on July 12th for a campaign fundraiser that may very well turn out to be zero hour for Donald Trump and Mike Pence to make whatever decisions they are going to make. July 12th also would be a good day for decision making on Trump and Pence's part since according to Astrologer Leah Whitehorse's Forecast for this month:

The First Quarter Moon in Libra on the 12th July is the first test since the New Moon. After leaving the safety of the Sun in Cancer, it’s now necessary to work closely with others to find your balance. Maybe you’re negotiating for a better deal or trying to smooth out problems. With the Moon now square to Pluto and opposing Uranus, it might not feel easy to hold your own when placed under pressure but it is possible. Thankfully, the mood lifts with Venus skipping into Leo also on the 12th July where we’re now more willing to risk our hearts. This creative transit eases tensions and encourages you to express your feelings. We are generous with our love under this sign but tend to call it quits quickly if our heart’s just not in it. We all need to feel treated like royalty sometimes so a lack of attention now can really hurt.

So if Leah is correct and none of the staff here believes in astrology. With Venus's skipping into Leo on July 12th both men might be willing to take some risks. But she warns a lack of attention to either person at that time may really hurt. Just some helpful ideas for Mike and Donald to ponder over. We had thought of checking to see what the Star's Matt Tully had to say about all this. But decided their was no need to induce vomiting in ourselves at this time by reading the drivel that man puts to paper!

To wrap things up Eric Holcomb and Brian "Candyman" Bosma having been thrown out as potential replacements for Pence. The staff felt like throwing out both our least favorite candidates to replace Mike Pence. None of us want's to see either former Governor Mitch Daniels, former Angie's List CEO Bill Oesterle get picked.  INDY REPUBLICAN would be absolutely giddy if either Paul Ogden, Charlie White or Christine Scales was chosen to run for Governor in Pence's place. That's all for now. If anyone out there has any tips, suggestions, or items of interest please contact us via our comments section. That's a wrap!

UPDATE: Iowa Republican Senator Joni Ernst has withdrawn as a potential candidate for Vice President according to this article by Politico.com. Senator Ernst appears to have endorsed Mike Pence for VP! Let the Games Begin!

UPDATE: It appears John Gregg the Democratic Candidate for Governor has chimed in about Pampered Pence's meeting with Donald Trump. Another INDY REPUBLICAN reader has alerted us to a fundraising email that the Gregg campaign has sent out seeking to make hay over the whole Pence Soap Opera: "Once again, Pence is putting his own ideology and ambition ahead of his commitment to Hoosier families -- all for a shot at joining a sideshow act like Donald Trump's campaign.
We don't yet know if he'll get the nod from Trump, but one thing is clearer than ever: We have to fire Governor Pence.
Hoosier families are struggling to make ends meet. Jobs are being shipped out of the country, incomes are lagging behind the rest of the country, and our kids aren't getting the education they deserve.
But instead of hunkering down and trying to fix the problems we face, Governor Pence is too busy interviewing for his next job.
Hoosiers deserve better than a part-time governor -- and we certainly don't need Donald Trump's next apprentice in the governor's mansion.

Thanks for your support,
Tim Henderson
Campaign Manager
Gregg for Governor"
This just goes to further point out just how inept Mike Pence's reelection campaign is being run. He gained nothing by agreeing to meet with Donald Trump. Anti-Trump Republicans in Indiana will become even more angry at Pence for even speaking to Trump. Many will rightfully question his sincerity behind his feeble endorsement of Ted Cruz in the May Primary. Pro-Trump Republicans will not warm to Pence either and view him as a simple opportunist. The only side that has gained by all this is the Gregg Campaign which is making good use of this PR fumble by Pence and his team. Again why didn't Marc Lotter simply tell Pence not to agree to this obviously stupid meeting with Donald Trump? We hear rumors that even the Gregg Campaign is surprised by Pence's lack of Campaign Skills! There is almost no sport in running against Pence this time around! To reiterate INDY REPUBLICAN refuses to support any of the Gubernatorial Candidates this year in Indiana. In fact as far as the Governor's Race goes we suggest that everyone leave that spot blank on their ballot! We stand by this unless Pence is replaced on the ticket by either Indiana's Favorite Son Paul Ogden or by the only real person of merit to serve as Indiana Secretary of State this Century Charlie White!
