Conservative Writer Charlie Sykes Exposes the Fraud Behind Trump’s Wall

In what has become an all to often occurrence since the election of President Donald Trump. We the people are on a roller coaster ride from one extreme display of human stupidity to another. The partial federal government shutdown which is about to enter its third week with no signs of abating. Resolution of the shutdown has continued to be held up by the insistent demand on the part of faux conservative President Trump’s demand to build a wall along almost 2,000 miles of our southern border. The President has even foolishly and dangerously toyed with the idea of declaring a national emergency to attempt to get his mythical wall built  Just like Captain Ahab refusing to give up His misguided quest to slay Moby Dick. Donald Trump must have his wall.

Charlie Sykes Editor-In-Chief of The Bulwark

Fortunately there are still SOME real conservatives like the Indy Republican Posse, Paul Ogden, Bill Kristol, Charlie Sykes and Congressman Justin Amash R-MI who are standing firm against the attempts of Trumpism and it’s attacks on the Constitution, rule of law and the conservative traditions of Buckley, Reagan and Goldwater.

Conservative Podcaster, Writer, and Television Commentator Charlie Sykes stands among the forefront of we who are the guardians and true adherents of conservative republican principles. Mr. Sykes along with many others writes for The Bulwark website. The premier site for Trump Skeptic conservatives. Sykes has just released a video on The Bulwark’s YouTube channel outlining the conservative case against Trump’s wall and against declaring a national emergency. We encourage all of our readers pro, sometimes or never Trump to watch the video and to support The Bulwark which has as its motto the well deserved “Conservatism Conserved. Please watch the video and write, call, tweet, email the President, the Vice President, the Cabinet, and every Congressman and Senator and tell them to say “Hell No” to ANY idea of declaring a National Emergency to build a bad acid trip inspired wall.

Here is the video enjoy:

UPDATE: It appears that President Trump’s plan to declare an emergency to seize land along the border is running into some stiff resistance. Nick Berman and Katie Zezima over at The Washington Post have an
article about many Texans who are opposing a border wall. Also the editors of the late great William F. Buckley’s magazine The National Review have come out in opposition to declaring a national emergency to attempt to build a border wall. Ben Shapiro has a brilliant article analyzing why Trump should not declare an emergency.

Beto O’Rourke’s Freaky Campaign Videos

Well it’s 14 days until the midterm election. And there has definitely been no shortage of weirdness this campaign season. Beto O’Rourke might just take the cake for most bizarre political videos of the year. Here’s the incomparable Ben Shapiro and his take on Beto’s videos:

Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen’s Legal Problems give President Trump a Migraine, Trump as the client from Hell, Star Wars Stuff and a Little more from IR and the Gang

Over the past few days the news has been a tornado of near biblical proportions. With the conviction of President Trump’s one time campaign manager and communist tool Paul Manafort on eight felony charges, not to mention the plea deal copped by President Trump’s former fixer/lawyer Michael Cohen. The news has been a whirlwind at best. We will briefly cover the Manafort/Cohen Shit Show, and then show a video that will finally give some vindication to the architect of the Death Star. We are working on several posts involving state and local government shenanigans. But with only so many hours in the day and with Donald Trump stealing all our oxygen we need to unwind.

First thing is first about commie bastard Paul Manafort’s legal troubles. NBC News has the following information on Manafort’s recent trial reported by Ken Dilanian:

A federal jury in Virginia convicted Paul Manafort, President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, on eight felony counts on Tuesday, but the judge declared a mistrial on the 10 other charges he faced.

Manafort, a fixture in Republican politics for decades, was convicted of five counts of tax fraud, one count of failure to file a report of foreign bank and financial accounts and two counts of bank fraud. A mistrial was declared in three counts of failing to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts, and seven counts of bank fraud and bank fraud conspiracy.

Prosecutors built a case that Manafort for years hid millions from U.S. tax authorities in overseas accounts, spending the money to maintain a lavish lifestyle and lying to banks to generate more cash.

Of particular interest to us in Mr. Dilanian’s story is this little tidbit:

Manafort also played a role in an effort to soften a plank in the Republican Party platform calling for lethal aid to Ukrainians fighting the Russian invasion of their country.

In addition to attempting to soften our parties platform regarding opposition to Vladimir Putin. Manafort’s role in securing the Vice Presidential nomination for Mike Pence also put Manafort on our crap list. INDY REPUBLICAN would love to move onto the good stuff right now, but we did promise to delve into the Michael Cohen debacle so here we go.

Earlier this week Donald Trump’s former consigliere Michael Cohen struck a plea deal with prosecutors which may and we emphasize may be a problem for Trump. Fox News has more on this story:

Michael Cohen, President Trump’s longtime personal attorney, admitted Tuesday to violating federal campaign finance laws by arranging hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal “at the direction” of then-candidate Trump.

In entering the plea, Cohen did not specifically name the two women or even Trump, recounting instead that he worked with an “unnamed candidate.” But the amounts and the dates all lined up with the payments made to Daniels and McDougal.

In total, Cohen pleaded guilty to five counts of tax evasion, one count of making false statements to a financial institution, one count of willfully causing an unlawful corporate contribution, and one count of making an excessive campaign contribution.

Cohen could have received up to 65 years in prison if convicted of all charges. However, as part of his plea deal, Cohen agreed not to challenge any sentence between 46 and 63 months.

All we can say is that Cohen must have offered a pretty big carrot to the prosecution to get his sentence knocked down from 65 years to at most 5 years in prison. We will have to wait and see what if anything comes out of this plea deal.

As to be expected Trump took to Twitter and offered his two cents on Manafort and Cohen’s plight:

Mister President as a little bit of advice tweets like this do not in anyway aid your case. By applauding Manafort for refusing to “break” you give the impression that you are scared about something Manafort knows or claims to know. Manafort didn’t work for you for very long so it is reasonable to ask why you are sticking with him so much. Sometimes Trump supporters Ben Shapiro and Michael Medved had this to say about Trump:

Sorry to have to do this but in the 45 minutes or so since we started composing this post apparently another round of potentially bad news has broken for President Trump. The incomparable Ben Shapiro over at Daily Wire has reported that the CEO of the National Enquirer David Pecker has been offered immunity to give testimony regarding Michael Cohen’s giving hush money payments to Trump mistresses Stormy Daniels and Karen MacDougal. Click here to read Shapiro’s article.

Now onto something more interesting. As die hard Star Wars fans the IR gang have long given the designers of the Death Star crap over their design of the battle station. But while pursuing the web not long ago we happened across a video made by the designer of the Death Star which has led us all to believe that we may have been to harsh on them. We will post the video below and let you all decide. Here it is enjoy:

Anti-Semitic Congressman Keith Ellison compares illegal immigrants to Jews persecuted under Nazi Germany

Representative and Deputy DNC Chairman Keith Ellison

The Hill reported that earlier this week in Minneapolis Congressman Keith Ellison gave a speech wherein he compared illegal immigrants to being equivalent to Jews hiding from the Nazi's during World War II. Needless to say Ellison's remarks have drawn severe criticism. Most notably from Jewish conservative writer, speaker, lawyer and talk show host Ben Shapiro. Mr. Shapiro is currently the host of  "The Ben Shapiro Show" on iTunes. He like most of the IR writers is a Never Trump Republican and his show is the highest rated conservative podcast in the country.

Carlos Garcia writing for theblaze.com gives Shapiro's
annihilating response to Ellison's sickening statements:

“Well I mean, there are about one bajillion things with everything he just said,” Shapiro said on Fox News Wednesday.

“First of all,” he added, “Keith Ellison is the last person who should be making Holocaust references considering that he spent the last 30 years of his life opposing Jews. I mean he was very close with Nation of Islam founder Louis Farrakhan in the 1990s  He gave a leadoff speech for a guy named Kalid Muhammed who was so radical that he was thrown out of the Nation of Islam for anti-Semitism.”

“Keith Ellison is not the guy to be making this particular reference to begin. If Keith Ellison had been around in 1941, I have my doubts about what he would have done with Jews trying to hide from Nazis,” he laughed.

“But beyond that,” Shapiro continued, “the reference with regard to ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement], that ICE is somehow a Nazi force in enforcing the immigration laws is just absurd and the idea that people who are here illegally who have been living in the country in largely freedom, many of their kids are going to public schools, they are taking advantage of public benefits, they have jobs here — the idea that this is the same thing as making legal citizens of your country illegal and then throwing them into concentration camps or gassing them is just beyond the pale.

“It’s insane language from Ellison but nothing shocking considering who Ellison is,” he concluded.

Whatever problems the Indy Republican gang has with our Grand Old Party and they are legion. The presence of an Anti-Semitic bigot like Keith Ellison as the number two man at the DNC ensures that we will find many flaws to point out in our Democratic counterparts.

Here is a video of Ben Shapiro's ass whooping of Keith Ellison:
