Martha McSally Crushes Alt-Right Kooks Kelli Ward & Joe Arpaio

Representative Martha McSally R-AZ

The news of Congresswoman and Air Force Colonel Martha McSally’s decisive win in tonight’s GOP Senate Primary in Arizona is a much needed shot in the arm to us at IR. Try as they might the histrionics of Kelli Ward and former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio were no match for the calm, cool, and classy demeanor of Colonel McSally. Kelli Ward in a classic display of narcissism that rivals that of her master the orange Buffon Trump. Had stated that shortly after Senator McCain’s family announced last Friday that he was discontinuing cancer treatment said she thought that was being done only to hurt her campaign. To make matters worse Kelli Ward whom IR also calls “bitch” said just the day after Senator McCain’s passing that “political correctness is like cancer”. We long ago thought that Ward had no chance in hell of winning the Primary. But her denigrating a dead man who also kicked her ass two years ago in his bid for renomination was a bridge to far for most Arizona Republicans to cross.

Martha McSally

Also Ward’s close ties to former Harvey Weinstein’s one time business partner Steve Bannon and INDY REPUBLICAN’S old bete noire Neo-Nazi Paul Nehlen whom Ward endorsed for congress in 2016  Alone disqualified Ward from serving in any office.
Here’s an old tweet by Ward endorsing Nehlen in 2016:

We have written about Bannon’s sleazy dealings with Weinstein here  We also crossed swords with Paul Nehlen awhile back in which we suggested that Nehlen take a flying leap off of a cliff. Unfortunately Nehlen has yet to take our suggestion. Nehlen grew so toxic that even Steve Bannon and Breitbart News cut him lose which we also covered

Here is our message we sent to Paul Nehlen on Twitter right before Twitter banned his fool ass:

As for Sheriff Joe Arpaio fellow blogger and friend of the IR Posse Paul Ogden has detailed Arpaio’s shortcomings here. Also Arpaio’s rather bizarre interview in which he suggested that he would be open to engaging in oral sex with Donald Trump just added to Arpaio’s perceived creepiness, but also led some to speculate on whether that had anything to do with Arpaio’s having been pardoned by President Trump late last year. Arpaio’s unusual pardon reminds us of former Governor Mitch Daniels questionable pardon of Indianapolis Union thug Boss Steven Quick several years ago reported by Gary Welsh

Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Well at least now the GOP has a fighting chance to hold the Senate seat in Arizona. If Ward or Arpaio had won the race would be over. Here are some sampling’s of reactions to McSally’s win tonight:

RIP John McCain

Senator John McCain R-AZ 1936-2018

We have just received word that Senator John McCain of Arizona died today at 81 of brain cancer. He was far from a perfect Republican. But he was a true hero, a statesman and IR is proud to have backed him in 2008. Had he won in 2008 we would have been spared 8 years of Barrack Obama. Rest In Peace Senator you have earned it. Click here for more on the untimely passing of Senator McCain. Here is a little sending song for the good Senator. A hymn for all navy men and women:

UPDATE: Here is a very touching tribute to John McCain by Greg Gutfeld:

Good God! Even Google starts lashing out at the BMV!

This has to be one of the weirdest stories to come out of the BMV to date. According to a story by IndyStar’s Ethan May and Amy Hameline if you tried searching for mybmv on Google you came up with some interesting results:

Google searches for "MyBMV" or "My BMV" Thursday afternoon resulted in a profanity-laced link to a website for Indiana's Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

"We are aware of the result that appears when our site is searched on Google. We are working to get it fixed as quickly as possible," said Christine Meyer, the director of communications and public affairs for the BMV.

We highly recommend that you read the rest of the story over at INDYSTAR. It’s quite interesting. The story did cite this tweet by Elise Shrock over at the SouthSide Indianapolis Democratic Club:

Kara Kenney tweeted a reply to Miss Shrock we also found some other tweets about this:

Here is a screenshot of the google search results for mybmv:

Either someone has committed a booboo or Eric “High Tax” Holcomb has some explaining to do about what he is allowing to go on at the BMV. We aren’t saying that change isn’t needed at the BMV but if the Google results are any indication at least have some law changes made to avoid this kind of issue.

Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen’s Legal Problems give President Trump a Migraine, Trump as the client from Hell, Star Wars Stuff and a Little more from IR and the Gang

Over the past few days the news has been a tornado of near biblical proportions. With the conviction of President Trump’s one time campaign manager and communist tool Paul Manafort on eight felony charges, not to mention the plea deal copped by President Trump’s former fixer/lawyer Michael Cohen. The news has been a whirlwind at best. We will briefly cover the Manafort/Cohen Shit Show, and then show a video that will finally give some vindication to the architect of the Death Star. We are working on several posts involving state and local government shenanigans. But with only so many hours in the day and with Donald Trump stealing all our oxygen we need to unwind.

First thing is first about commie bastard Paul Manafort’s legal troubles. NBC News has the following information on Manafort’s recent trial reported by Ken Dilanian:

A federal jury in Virginia convicted Paul Manafort, President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, on eight felony counts on Tuesday, but the judge declared a mistrial on the 10 other charges he faced.

Manafort, a fixture in Republican politics for decades, was convicted of five counts of tax fraud, one count of failure to file a report of foreign bank and financial accounts and two counts of bank fraud. A mistrial was declared in three counts of failing to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts, and seven counts of bank fraud and bank fraud conspiracy.

Prosecutors built a case that Manafort for years hid millions from U.S. tax authorities in overseas accounts, spending the money to maintain a lavish lifestyle and lying to banks to generate more cash.

Of particular interest to us in Mr. Dilanian’s story is this little tidbit:

Manafort also played a role in an effort to soften a plank in the Republican Party platform calling for lethal aid to Ukrainians fighting the Russian invasion of their country.

In addition to attempting to soften our parties platform regarding opposition to Vladimir Putin. Manafort’s role in securing the Vice Presidential nomination for Mike Pence also put Manafort on our crap list. INDY REPUBLICAN would love to move onto the good stuff right now, but we did promise to delve into the Michael Cohen debacle so here we go.

Earlier this week Donald Trump’s former consigliere Michael Cohen struck a plea deal with prosecutors which may and we emphasize may be a problem for Trump. Fox News has more on this story:

Michael Cohen, President Trump’s longtime personal attorney, admitted Tuesday to violating federal campaign finance laws by arranging hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal “at the direction” of then-candidate Trump.

In entering the plea, Cohen did not specifically name the two women or even Trump, recounting instead that he worked with an “unnamed candidate.” But the amounts and the dates all lined up with the payments made to Daniels and McDougal.

In total, Cohen pleaded guilty to five counts of tax evasion, one count of making false statements to a financial institution, one count of willfully causing an unlawful corporate contribution, and one count of making an excessive campaign contribution.

Cohen could have received up to 65 years in prison if convicted of all charges. However, as part of his plea deal, Cohen agreed not to challenge any sentence between 46 and 63 months.

All we can say is that Cohen must have offered a pretty big carrot to the prosecution to get his sentence knocked down from 65 years to at most 5 years in prison. We will have to wait and see what if anything comes out of this plea deal.

As to be expected Trump took to Twitter and offered his two cents on Manafort and Cohen’s plight:

Mister President as a little bit of advice tweets like this do not in anyway aid your case. By applauding Manafort for refusing to “break” you give the impression that you are scared about something Manafort knows or claims to know. Manafort didn’t work for you for very long so it is reasonable to ask why you are sticking with him so much. Sometimes Trump supporters Ben Shapiro and Michael Medved had this to say about Trump:

Sorry to have to do this but in the 45 minutes or so since we started composing this post apparently another round of potentially bad news has broken for President Trump. The incomparable Ben Shapiro over at Daily Wire has reported that the CEO of the National Enquirer David Pecker has been offered immunity to give testimony regarding Michael Cohen’s giving hush money payments to Trump mistresses Stormy Daniels and Karen MacDougal. Click here to read Shapiro’s article.

Now onto something more interesting. As die hard Star Wars fans the IR gang have long given the designers of the Death Star crap over their design of the battle station. But while pursuing the web not long ago we happened across a video made by the designer of the Death Star which has led us all to believe that we may have been to harsh on them. We will post the video below and let you all decide. Here it is enjoy:

Jeff Miller Cops a Plea Resigns from Indianapolis City Council

Indianapolis City Councilor Jeff Miller-R

Back in November of last year. We had written about how Indianapolis City-County Councilor Jeff Miller had been charged with child molestation. Marisa Kwiatkowski and James Briggs over at INDYSTAR reported yesterday that Miller has pleaded guilty to several felony charges and resigned his council seat

Kwiatkowski, Briggs and Ryan Martin who contributed to yesterday’s story wrote:

Miller, 51, pleaded guilty Wednesday to four felony counts of battery on a person less than 14 years old, ending a case that began in November when Marion County prosecutors charged him with three counts of child molestation.

Hamilton County Prosecutor D. Lee Buckingham II, who took over the case in January as special prosecutor, reached a deal with Miller's attorneys that downgraded the charges while still resulting in felony convictions.

Miller was sentenced to four years of probation, with some conditions. Hendricks Superior Court Judge Mark A. Smith ordered Miller not to interact with children under 16 without permission from the court. Miller will not serve jail time and does not have to register as a sex offender, according to the terms of his plea agreement. The convictions could be reduced to misdemeanors once Miller completes probation.

Now that Miller has resigned our guess is that the Council Republican’s will have a caucus to appoint Miller’s replacement. Let’s pray that another sexual predator is not put in Miller’s place. Prayers for Miller’s victims and their families.

The Thrill is Gone! Bernie Sanders Revolution Goes Kaput

Bernie Sanders

Based off of the results going back to late last year in special election’s. One could reasonably say that Vermont Senator Bernie “Crypt Keeper” Sanders no longer has the magic touch many in the Democratic Party claimed he did. David Siders over at Politico in his article “Bernie and his army are losing 2018”. Siders recounts a litany of defeats for the Sanders Socialist Squad:

Bernie Sanders is sputtering.

Two years after his defeat in the 2016 presidential primary, the Vermont senator has amassed a growing string of losses in races in which he has intervened. Beginning last year, Sanders-backed candidates faltered in an Omaha mayoral race and a nationally watched House race in Montana.

Then came Rep. Tom Perriello’s loss in Virginia’s gubernatorial primary, and in June, the drubbing in Iowa of Pete D’Alessandro, a top adviser to Sanders during his 2016 Iowa caucus campaign. Cathy Glasson, endorsed by Sanders’ successor group, Our Revolution, fell short in Iowa’s gubernatorial primary, as did Peter Jacob and Jim Keady in two New Jersey House races. Dennis Kucinich lost in Ohio.

Siders points out that even with the help of other ultra liberal politicians and activists. Sanders backed candidates still mostly went down to defeat in primaries held earlier this week:

In a crowded Democratic primary in Kansas, former Sanders campaign staffer Brent Welder said before results were finalized on Tuesday night that his “message of bold progressive values and running an uncorrupted campaign that does not take corporate PAC money is resonating with people across Kansas, across the district and across the country.”

But hours later, the race was called for Welder’s opponent Sharice Davids, an attorney who will take on Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-Kan.) in November.

Sanders did even worse in Michigan, where he and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez campaigned aggressively for Abdul El-Sayed, who was trampled by more than 20 percentage points in the Democratic primary for governor. Sanders rallied supporters in Detroit over the weekend. El-Sayed, a 33-year-old physician, was seeking to become the first Muslim governor in the nation.

For those of you who may not be aware Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a 28 year old Socialist Democrat who defeated 10 term veteran Democratic Congressman Joe  Crowley in June. Her victory garnered even more attention since Crowley was considered as a strong contender to become Speaker of the House if the Democrats take back the House this November. Since than Ocasio-Cortez has become a rock star to many on the extreme left of the Democratic Party. Bob Fredricks over at the New York Post has a good article about Ocasio-Cortez’s terrible track record at getting candidates elected here

So how did Bernie Sanders go from almost beating Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination to a has been? IR’s theory is after having spoken to some of our most left leaning friends that the biggest reason that Bernie caught fire the way he did for so long is because he was running against Hillary and was a good outlet for anti Hillary democrats. But Hillary despite whatever her ambitions are is gone and will not be back. So a major motivation for anyone to take Bernie Sanders seriously now is no longer around. Also it could be that many Democratic voters could be tired of the identity politics of Fake Republican President Donald Trump. And with there being such an enormous Anti-Trump wave building among Democrats, Independents, and a small minority of Republicans. This wave is a great, great, great Anti-Trump wave! It’s Yuge!! So  the last thing many people want is to vote for candidates that are going to go to Washington just to blow up our political system.
Preaching income redistribution over growth, timidity in asserting America’s values on the world stage, and adopting a slightly redressed version of Trumpisim may play well in New York, D.C., and Los Angeles. But farmers in Kansas, line workers in Michigan, and blue collar workers in Virginia will and have so far rejected candidates who just preach Sanders silliness. This is by no means to say we think that any significant number of Democrats who have beaten Bernie’s people will wind up being less extreme than Sanders. If the House changes hands as we believe it will. We predict that most newly elected Democrats will turn into Nancy Pelosi clones. The only difference is that the Democrats will lie about their extremist views. We thought we would end this post with a little meme making its way around cyberspace showing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez being out of her depth:
