Donald Trump Threatens DC Republican Voters

Even after having lived through these past eight years of Donald Trump and his clown car insanity, we all have to admit his most recent campaign stunt has surprised even us.

Tomorrow is the Washington, D.C. Republican Presidential Primary and for all his talk of wanting to “drain the swamp”, Trump is scared that he might lose the DC Primary.

Donald Trump’s campaign wants Republican lobbyists in D.C. to know: If they don’t vote in this Sunday’s primary, they won’t get access should the former president end up back in the White House.

“If you don’t bother voting, don’t bother calling,” said one Trump campaign official, who was granted anonymity to speak about campaign strategy.

Bryan Lanza, a Washington, D.C.-based Republican lobbyist who served on Trump’s 2016 campaign and his White House transition team, said that “The Trump campaign is very cognizant of who makes up the GOP primary voters in DC.” He added, “The worst thing for them would be not showing up.”

The ultimatum constitutes a blunt threat toward the influence-peddling community, one that is highly unusual for a presidential campaign but fits the more publicly hardball model that Trump has often applied to governance.

Under D.C. law, campaigns are unable to know which candidates individual voters cast ballots for. But campaigns can access voter rolls from the District of Columbia’s Board of Elections to see who voted in the primary and who didn’t. A Trump campaign aide said they would be looking at the rolls when they were made available.

After reading this report our thoughts are that Trump and his campaign are clearly afraid of losing the DC primary, and that they don’t have nearly the confidence in themselves that they claim to have. So far Donald Trump has won every primary and caucus so far. However apparently Nikki Haley’s primary challenge has him more scared than he likes to let on. A Haley win in DC tomorrow could give her a boost leading into the Super Tuesday contests two days later.

Although it’s most likely at the moment at least that Trump will be the nominee, should she win a few primaries on Tuesday or keep it much closer than expected that will only continue to undermine Trump and grow the cadre of Republican voters who will not vote for Trump. Ambassador Haley had this to say about Trump’s latest outburst:

It also occurred to us another thing that could be upsetting the Donald is that Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine have both come out and endorsed Haley ahead of Super Tuesday. Since Trump cannot stand women standing up to him, it stands to reason that the man baby is so bent out of shape. Here’s to hoping that DC Republicans give the finger to Trump on Sunday!

On Tuesday we recommend keeping an eye on Vermont, Virginia, Massachusetts, Maine, Utah and Colorado. Some interesting things might be on the horizon.

Nikki Haley Troll’s Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live

Even though the New Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary took place almost two weeks ago, and Donald Trump won, his remaining rival former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has continued to serve as a thorn in Trump’s side. She has (finally), started attacking Donald Trump’s mental fitness to be President.

In an unexpected move Governor Haley appeared as herself on the opening segment of Saturday Night Live. In the skit Haley pokes fun at Trump’s failure to carry his home state of New York, his spending $50 Million dollars of campaign contributions on his legal fees, and his delusional belief that she was in charge of security in the Capital on January 6th. Like some other Never Trumper’s we are not exactly fans of Haley’s, but we have to admit this appearance on SNL was pure genius and is quite funny!

Nikki might not win the nomination, but it’s extremely gratifying to see her taking some bites out of Donald Trump!

Checkout the skit for yourselves:

UPDATE: Nikki Haley just posted the following on message on Twitter about her appearance tonight:

The always enlightening John Podhoretz, writer, host of “Commentary” podcast, and co founder of the late, great Weekly Standard, had this to say about Haley’s guest appearance:

As much as it irks us to admit, we really like how Nikki is needling Donald! No doubt Trump will, if he hasn’t already go apeshit on Truth Social!

Donate to Nikki Haley and Be Banned from MAGA World

We know we promised a follow up about the New Hampshire primary, but we wanted to bring you something more interesting and perhaps more important at the moment.
Last night Nikki Haley did better than most pundits expected and came within 11% of Donald Trump.

Now instead of being magnanimous in his victory speech last night Trump proceeded as he is prone to doing to be a total ass and even threaten Haley to try to get her to leave the primary race.

Showing that his stupidity knows no bounds, this evening he posted on Truth Social that anyone who donates to Nikki Haley would be permanently banned from the MAGA camp.

Checkout the insanity for yourselves:

Even though we will suffer the ignominy of being barred from Donald Trump’s presence we donated to Nikki Haley’s campaign:

Please whatever you don’t go to https://secure.winred.com/nikki-haley-for-president/home-debate?utm_medium=homepage and donate to Nikki Haley! Whatever you don’t also encourage everyone you know to donate to her! That would be wrong! It would absolutely drive Donald Trump and his supporters crazy! Please don’t do it!!!!

Indy Republican’s New Hampshire Primary Preview

In less than forty five minutes the final polls will close in the Granite State. Tonight former South Carolina Governor and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley squares off against former President Donald Trump. Trump is widely expected to win the primary tonight however in New Hampshire turnout has been reaching record highs, to the extent that the New Hampshire Secretary of State has had to issue extra paper ballots.

MSNBC’s political reporter Steve Kornacki posted this map showing what numbers Nikki Haley would need to hit to make the primary competitive:

So far with only 2% in Haley is hitting her targets in several cities. Trump doing well in Laconia so far. The only prediction we feel comfortable making is that this primary will not be a blowout win for whoever winds up the winner tonight. We will try to post more tonight and hopefully have the results posted sometime tomorrow or the next few days.
This is Darius saying we will be back later and we wish you all a good evening.

Indy Republicans Iowa Predictions

Good afternoon everyone! Darius from the IR newsroom here. The Iowa Caucuses are scheduled to end this evening and hopefully the results will come in quickly. Here’s our rough prediction for the Caucus results tonight:

Trump: 40-45%
Haley: 20-25%
DeSantis: 14-20%
Ramaswamy: 2-10%

The above predictions are a combination of observations and just pure guess work on our part. If Trump gets 45% or less of the vote that could be a danger signal to his campaign. If DeSantis doesn’t come in second tonight his campaign is over. We have been convinced it’s been over for awhile and he is just hoping to postpone dropping out until next week in New Hampshire. Nikki Haley should be able to make it to New Hampshire, if she gets 20% that would help, if she gets 25% or higher than she will get more momentum going to New Hampshire. As for Vivek Ramaswamy stick a fork in him he’s done! On Saturday Trump threw Vivek under the bus, but being the boot locker he is he just said to Trump: “Thanks for the beating, please give me another!” Would be funny if he drains enough from Donald to humiliate him!

As political strategist Mike Murphy has said on his “Hacks on Tap” podcast one factor tonight is since the Democrats for all practical purposes aren’t really having a caucus there will be a lot of democratic and independent voters in Iowa with nothing to do. Some will switch their voter registration to republican to vote in Iowa could have an impact. Question is will it be 5,000 or 35,000 crossover voters in Iowa?

We will wait and see. We will be back maybe later tonight, but hopefully in a day or two with some review and analysis on Iowa. Take care and be safe, and we will catch you all later!

Open Letter to the Traitor Peter Meijer

Former Congressman and Sell Out Peter Meijer of Michigan

To: The Honorable Peter Meijer, Former Congressman from Michigan

From: The people you stabbed in the back and will make you regret it.

Dear Congressman Meijer,

All of us here would first like to thank you for having the guts to cast a vote for the articles of impeachment against former President Trump. We are also grateful to you for saying you stand by that vote. However your recent actions have made it impossible for any of us to never support you again and to work towards your defeat in any and all future runs for an office of any kind whether it be state, local or federal.

Yesterday you gave in interview after having announced your run for the U.S. Senate in Michigan where you stated your horror at what happened on January 6th, 2021 as well as your defense of your vote to for Donald Trump’s impeachment. So far so good, you then proceeded to flush your reason, integrity and your balls down the drain by comparing President Biden’s conduct as President as being on par with Trump’s. Specifically you make note of the Afghanistan withdrawal last year. We have also criticized President Biden in that regard. It shouldn’t need to be pointed out that an error in judgment as President is not morally equivalent to causing a riot in our nation’s capital. It can also be pointed out that the withdrawal from Afghanistan was negotiated by Trump. Yes Biden could have decided not to go along with it, but it was Trump’s deal so you should blame him as well.

Congressman, May I call you Pete? Well, Pete we all know that you are aware of just how unsuited for office Donald Trump is. We also know that your ego is inflated to the point that you think that the nation needs you in office so badly that you will turn yourself into a submissive vasal to your Lord and Master Trump. We have news for you Petey, as Barry Goldwater said: “The sky will not fall on a congressman or the country if he is not re-elected.” But like too many in the Republican Party you have shredded your principles for power. And so far you have gained neither. You did state in your interview yesterday that your supporting Trump if he is the Republican nominee for President will make Never Trumper’s very unhappy. You at least showed a grasp of something obvious. You have failed to realize that you have awoken a sleeping giant Pete.

Honestly you have almost no chance of winning the Republican nomination for Senate. That much should have been obvious to you when as reported by Politico earlier that the Trumpist establishment would rather slit there wrist than vote for you:

“Peter Meijer isn’t viable in a primary election, and there’s worry that if Meijer were nominated, the base would not be enthused in the general election,” NRSC Executive Director Jason Thielman said.

Pete you are a very wealthy man, and you could easily finance your own senate race. So why don’t you just be true to what you did when you stood up to Trump? Run in the primary as a real man, not some sissy girl little biatch trying to kiss up to Trump? Michiganders prize independence and courage in their elected officials. There’s Arthur Vandenburg, George Romney, Bill Milliken, Robert Griffin, John Engler, Fred Upton, Rick Snyder and many others. Yes you might lose but the odds aren’t exactly in your favor as it is. If you are going to lose at least have some pride man! You are a sad reflection of how far we Republicans have fallen! We have gone from being Reagan’s Macho Men, and George Bush’s cowboys to sycophantic enablers and ass kissers to a man whose physical ambition is to as close as possible resemble Chester Chetah!

We could go on but we have made our points. We will let Heath Mayo and your former colleague and friend Adam Kinzinger explain to you just what an asshole you really are:

IR Report on First 2023 Republican Primary Debate

Tonight at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the first Republican Presidential Primary debate will be held. Former President Donald Trump has said he will not appear but instead clips of him will be shown for the candidates to respond to. This year the Republican National Committee (RNC) has set the following conditions for candidates to qualify for the first debate, namely that they have 40,000 individual donors, and they must have 200 individual donors from at least 20 states. Also the candidates must poll 1% in multiple polls.

CBS reports that:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former Vice President Mike Pence, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamyand Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina all qualified for the debate.

Despise some drama of a basketball injury last night North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum will be at the debate. Chris Christie was once a staunch supporter of Donald Trump’s but has emerged along with Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson as the two Anti-Trump candidates at tonight’s debates. Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramasway, and Tim Scott have all been running to various degrees as somewhat Trump like. In full disclosure we must reveal that our sympathies at tonight’s debate are with Governor’s Christie and Hutchinson, we will strive to show fairness in our appraisal of the other candidates.

This will be the first time in almost three years we have watched Fox News. But seeing as the network is the broadcaster for this debate, we have to go into the lions den to watch it. We figured we would watch and report on the debate so you don’t have to! Of course we as always would love to hear any feedback you have regarding tonight’s debate. We just pray it doesn’t devolve into a freak show!

Martha Macallum and Bret Baier moderated the debate. Ground rules for the debate are the moderators asked the questions, candidates have one minute to respond, if someone is singled out they have 30 seconds to respond.

DeSantis spoke first and proceeded to attack the congress for overspending, attacked the Biden administration. Argued for the need to reduce taxes and spending.

Christie said he disagreed with DeSantis by saying that in order to be successful in reducing inflation, taxes and deficit spending that Republicans need to sell their plans and win over a majority of the public.

Tim Scott alternated between promoting some ideas of his own and attacking the Biden administration.

Vivek Ramaswany argued that his experience as a family man and entrepreneur give him the outsider perspective needed to help guide the country to better economic times. So far his conspiracy theories haven’t come up.

Nikki Haley opened by attacking Republicans for passing large spending bills including many of the other candidates on the stage while also attacking Donald Trump for raising the national debt. So far Haley is the only one to criticize Trump.

Mike Pence opens by praising the Trump-Pence administration, Pence criticized Ramaswamy for saying the President can’t do everything. Vivek and Pence started to have an exchange saying that Vivek lacks the experience to be President. DeSantis then fired back attacking the Trump administration for COVID lockdowns. Ramaswamy seems intent on pushing the line that he is an outsider.

Governor Doug Burgum opened with a joke about his recent leg injury, and criticized the Biden administration regarding energy policy.

Asa Hutchinson talked about his record as a tax cutting and budget balancing Governor. He argues that he has experience as the head of the DEA, as a Governor and a Prosecutor give him the needed skills to be President.

So far DeSantis is doing better than we expected, Ramaswamy seems to be doing most of the talking. Pence has been more aggressive than we expected but doesn’t seem to be scoring many points. Nikki Haley is appearing more thoughtful, independent and articulate than many would have thought she would be. Chris Christie has been willing to go after Vivek for being to inexperienced. Tim Scott pointed out that the United States has drastically reduced its carbon footprint and points out as Nikki Hailey has that China by far produces more carbon output than America and that is where we need to crackdown on carbon emissions.

Impressions so far of the debate is Nikki Hailey and Ron DeSantis have helped to revive their campaigns so far. Mike Pence is not making up any ground. Hutchinson has done okay but is not standing out enough. Christie is getting plenty of attention, remains to be seen if it helps him. Burgum is alright but isn’t making enough waves.

The moderator’s next turned to the subject of abortion and how the issue has affected the Republican Party. Nikki Hailey says she favors late term abortions, favors the availability of contraception and not demonizing women who get abortions. She was met with great applause. DeSantis defended his record on abortion and tap danced around whether he would support a six week abortion ban nationally. Pence talked about his faith and said that he supports a fifteen week abortion ban. Hailey responded to Pence by saying that Pence needs to be honest about the difficulties in passing a nationwide abortion ban. Burgum stated he doesn’t favor a federal abortion ban because that is a state issue. Burgum was meet with great applause. Asa Hutchinson argue that infant care and adoption should be part of the dialogue regarding abortion.

Chris Christie when asked about gun violence. He stated that the laws need to be enforced and violent criminals should be held accountable for their actions.

Now that we are about 52 minutes in we are finally going to be asked about Donald Trumps indictments! Love how Brett Baier referred to Donald Trump as the “Elephant not in the room”.

The candidates are asked to raise there hands if they would support Trump if he is convicted of crimes. Only Asa Hutchinson and Chris Christie refused to raise their hands. Chris Christie says that we cannot normalize a presidential candidate being convicted of crimes. Christie and Ramaswamy had a heated exchange over the issue. With Vivek defending Trump and Christie pushing back against Vivek as a foolish amateur. Tim Scott said that Mike Pence acted properly on January 6th, DeSantis refused to answer the question. Pence defended his actions on 1/6. Hutchinson said that Trump is morally disqualified from being president and that under the 14th Amendment Trump might be disqualified from being President. Christie emphatically defended Pence and pointed out that Republicans can’t move forward until Donald Trump is dealt with.

After all the shouting over Donald Trump the debate moved onto the issue of Ukraine funding. Ramaswamy proceeded to rattle off his usual Pro Putin talking points and criticized Christie for going to Ukraine. Christie responded by discussing the war crimes of Russia towards the Ukrainians and said that if we refuse to stand up to Putin we will invite more tyrants by refusing to fight against dictators. Pence and Ramaswamy engaged in a bitter back and forth over the war in Ukraine. Ramaswamy was met with more boos than we expected from his alt right talking points. Nikki Hailey made the moral case for supporting Ukraine and stated that if our goal is to reduce China’s influence than we should help Ukraine defeat Russia. We are pleased that the reaction of the audience so far is one of support for Ukraine.

With only about a half hour to go in the debate here’s our thoughts: Nikki Hailey, Mike Pence and DeSantis are all doing much better than many thought they would at this point. The rumors of Hailey’s political death might have been greatly exaggerated! Mike Pence was aggressive but we seriously still doubt he will win the nomination. Ron DeSantis didn’t embarrass himself too much we still don’t think he’ll get the nomination. But his performance so far will keep his campaign alive.

Asa Hutchinson and Doug Burgum might drop out before Iowa. They just aren’t getting the traction they need tonight to further there campaign. Chris Christie probably is still a long shot for the nomination but he is doing a great job attacking Vivek Ramaswamy and Donald Trump. Before tonight we thought everyone would have knives out on DeSantis, instead it’s turning into a attack against Vivek! Probably because Vivek comes off as such an asshole they candidates probably just decided to attack him en masse. Donald Trump is also a loser by refusing to attend the debate he’s helped breathe new life into some of his opponents. Wouldn’t surprise us if Donald Trump eventually enters some of the future Primary debates. No doubt the fact that it took almost an hour before he was mentioned in any noticeable way. Will have to keep an eye on the polls over the next couple days and weeks to see who gains and if Trump losses any ground.

The candidates gave their speeches about why they feel they can help inspire the American people. Interestingly all of the candidates even Vivek Ramaswamy struck optimistic tones about America and it’s future. This is a stark contrast to the apocalyptic doom and gloom ramblings of Donald Trump. This debate although tiring was not as depressing as we feared it would be.

Mike Pence’s Pathetic Quest for Power

Former Vice President Mike Pence

Recently former Vice President Mike Pence has been making the news, by endorsing candidates in republican primaries, other than the candidates endorsed and backed by his former lord and master President Donald Trump. Notable examples include Pence’s support of former Wisconsin Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, and his endorsement of Katrina Taylor Robson in Arizona. Kleefisch is running for Governor in Wisconsin and Robson is running in the Arizona GOP primary for the honor to lose to the Democratic candidate in the fall. These endorsements combined with Pence’s traveling back and forth to several early primary states, indicate that Pence is still delusional enough to think that he is of presidential timber.

This delusion of grandeur from which Pence suffers is no doubt encouraged by the fact that some view Pence as being heroic for refusing to help President Trump steal the 2020 presidential election. The incomparable Mona Charen over at the Bulwark has written a brilliant piece today “Mike Pence Sold his Soul for Nothing”. Mrs. Charen whom the Indy Republican team has had the pleasure of meeting, lays out the case that while Vice President Pence deserves credit for standing up to Trump on January 6th, 2022 that is all he deserves credit for.

We have on many occasions written about Pence’s character flaws, our friend the late great Gary Welsh compared Pence to Rod Blagojevich. Paul Ogden has also written about Pence’s shortcomings. But Mona Charen’s article really nails down the weaknesses of a man whom many of us here think of as the “Judas Of Politics”.

Below are some choice extracts from Mona Charen’s article, with our commentary in bold afterwards. We do highly recommend you all read her entire article here

Charen writes:

“You remember Mike Pence—he’s the guy who defeated a roomful of lickspittles to claim the obsequiousness grand prize at a 2017 cabinet meeting, praising the dear leader once every 12.5 seconds.”

“Pray for our opponents,” he told a (small) audience at a South Carolina church, “that their hearts would soften and their minds would open to the unimaginable beauty that is life.”

She goes onto outline Pence’s campaign for the presidency, but as she points out:

“There are a few flies in the ointment.” Referring to flaws in Pence’s plan to sit in the White House chair.

First problem. Now? Now is the moment that Pence rolls out the prayer? As Pence is well-situated to know, big chunks of the GOP base have become hungry for a very different tone. Christian charity is out. Vulgar insults, shameless lies, and secessionist hatred are in. It sure is ugly, but Pence is in no position to complain. It’s a revolution that Mike Pence did so much to encourage, and it’s bizarre that he seems to think he can carry on as if nothing has changed.”

Pence prostituted his reputation for Christian piety to the most vile figure in the history of American presidential politics, a man who modeled the opposite of every virtue taught in Sunday school. Pence lent his credibility as a religious man to a villain, and gave permission to millions of self-styled Christians to vote for him. Pence’s pious conscience was remarkably quiescent when Trump encouraged his followers to rough up hecklers”

We have pointed out Pence’s play acting as a Christian before also.

Second problem: Worse than simply remaining silent, he played the toady with seemingly endless reserves of self-mortification, uttering cringeworthy encomia to Trump’s “broad-shouldered leadership” (a phrase he repeated at least 17 times), and audacious lies about matters big and small.”

Pence’s silence and refusal to stand up to Trump has been a sticking point with us for years. Pence being Vice President couldn’t be fired by Trump but he still enabled everything he did.

“Third problem: It’s impossible to say how large a contingent of Republican primary voters are in the “Pence is a Traitor” camp, but consider that a recent New York Times/Sienna poll found that only 6 percent of Republicans would vote for Pence in a 2024 primary. At their dueling campaign appearances in Arizona, Trump assembled a rally attended by thousands while Pence spoke to a crowd estimated at 300.”

Charen does point out and we agree with her that there is a demand among some republicans for someone other than Trump. But Pence is not that candidate. Trumpets don’t want him because he is considered at best a wimp, and at worst a traitor. Never Trumper’s don’t support him because he has no principles and like Judas sold out for his 30 pieces of silver.

Like Mona Charen we do give Pence credit for his actions on January 6th, but his refusal to outright condemn Trump, his continuing defense of Trump’s conduct as president, and his unwillingness to call Trump out even now. Has forfeited any claim to hold an office of trust of any kind in America. We cannot recommend Charen’s article highly enough, nor can we oppose Pence enough for his humoring of the blasphemous Trump.

UPDATE: A reader just alerted us to an excellent observation made by Miles Taylor a former Trump administration official made about Mike Pence recently. Another reader alerted us to the fact we accidentally said Robson was running for the Senate in Arizona, she is actually running for Governor. Please watch and listen to Miles Taylor’s take on Pence’s time as Vice President:

A Tale of Two Congressman: Trump Doormat Mo Brooks VS Patriot Tom Rice

Congressman Mo Brooks AL-R

In Alabama there is an upcoming runoff primary to determine who will be the upcoming republican senate nominee. One of the two contenders vying for the seat is Congressman Mo Brooks. Earlier this year as reported by Paul Ogden and others, after originally endorsing Brooks for the primary former President Trump decided to rescind his endorsement due to Brooks falling stand in the polls. Since then Brooks has resurged enough to finish second in the primary and move to a runoff.

Brooks has now engaged in what can only be described as a pathetic attempt to win back Trump’s endorsement. The attempt to pander to Trump is so childish and stupid we find it analogous to a dumped high school student who cannot get over his girlfriend dumping him and proceeds to make an ass out of himself, in front of the whole school. Brooks plea for reconciliation with Trump was released yesterday and we are posting it below for you all to read over and laugh at:

We especially are laughing over Brooks attempt to spin Trump’s pulling of his endorsement in order to give the campaign a chance to straighten up! All we can say is that Brooks should just accept that Trump broke up with him, and move on.

In contrast to the ridiculous and sycophantic ass kissing of Trump done by Mo Brooks, their is the approach being taken by South Carolina Republican Congressman Tom Rice.

Congressman Tom Rice SC-R

Congressman Rice is one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach President Donald Trump after his attempts to overturn his election loss in 2020. David Cohen writing in an article for Politico reports on Congressman Rice and his upcoming primary:

Voting to impeach former President Donald Trump was the “conservative” thing to do, Rep. Tom Rice said Sunday, even though it might cost him dearly in South Carolina’s 2022 Republican primary.

“Defending the Constitution is a bedrock of the Republican platform, defend the Constitution, and that’s what I did. That was the conservative vote,” Rice (R-S.C.) said in an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” adding: “There’s no question in my mind.”

Rice said he was appalled to see Trump not lift a finger in response to the attacks on the Capitol and its police officers, as well as the threats to Vice President Mike Pence.

“It was clear to me what I had to. I was livid. I am livid today about it. I took an oath to protect the Constitution,” said Rice, who was one of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump. “I did it then, and I would do it again tomorrow.”

Congressman Rice unlike his Alabama colleague Mo Brooks has a spine, class and strength of character to make the right choice and stand by it. Rice might lose his primary but he has kept his self respect. Brooks on the other hand we have to ask this: “If it profit a man nothing to trade his soul for the whole world, then how little does it profit you to sell it for a Senate seat?”

We will let you know when and if we get a reply back from Mo Brooks or his campaign. In the meantime if you would like to help out a genuine patriot, throw some support to Tom Rice and his campaign. You can donate on his website https://www.tomrice.com/

Thank You and God Bless you all! Be well my friends!

Devil Trump Went Down to Georgia and Lost Bigly

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp & Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger-Real Republicans

As we predicted here on this blog back in February, Brian Kemp easily turned back Donald Trump’s sacrificial lamb, David Perdue in yesterday’s Georgia Republican Gubernatorial Primary. Kemp won renomination with a commanding 73% of the vote to Perdue’s 21%. We were all pleased but not to surprised that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, was able to win his primary outright and defeat Trumpist Congressman Jody Hice, and also avoiding a runoff election.

Raffensperger is best known for a now infamous phone call in which former President Trump tried to get him to find “11,780 votes”, so that Trump could win Georgia a state he narrowly lost to President Joe Biden. Raffensperger not only refused to knuckle under to Trump, after Trump accused him falsely of helping Biden steal the state, Raffensperger released a recording of the phone call showing how Trump tried to intimidate him into violating his oath of office. We are beyond pleased that both Governor Kemp, Secretary Raffensperger, won last night in their respective primaries.
We also recommend Raffensperger’s book: “Integrity Counts”, alongside Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan’s “GOP 2.0”.

Trump also recruited attorney John Gordon in an effort to oust Georgia Attorney General Christopher Carr.  Despite Trump's endorsement of Gordon, Carr won with 73.7% of the vote.

As to the two Georgia open congressional seats, the 6th and the 10th, Trump endorsed attorney Jake Evans and former Democratic state representative Vernon Jones respectively.  Evans lost 43.2% to 23.2% and Jones was edged out 25.6% to 21.6%.  Both did qualify for next month's runoff primary.

We are disappointed that Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and Herschel Walker both won there primaries, but overall chalk last night up as a win for democracy and a YUGE defeat for Donald Trump!

We still have a long way to go both fighting the influence of Donald Trump. And we have an even longer way to go in the battle against Trumpism, but we have achieved some long overdue wins, and now Trump rather than looking like a kingmaker is looking more like Superman not being able to fly!

Our Apologies to our Readers: Trump Message Urging Midterm Boycott might be a Fake

UPDATE: We have received word that the midterm boycott message attributed to former President Donald Trump might be a fake. We apologize to all of our readers for this oversight. In fairness though this message does sound a lot like Trump, but we should have avoided making this mistake. When we make mistakes at this blog, we are big enough to admit it, and it looks like we might have messed this one up. Again our sincerest apologies.

With the 2022 Midterm Elections a little over 6 months away, former President Donald Trump continues his endless opining on whom he thinks should be elected this year. Trump of course just like an STD that won’t go away. Trump must keep being an nonstop wrecking ball of idiocy.

In a message that is posted above, Trump is encouraging all his supporters to boycott the midterms if his candidates lose their primaries. Okay let’s try and follow the logic where for a moment:

Trump apparently is going to be mad if his preferred candidates lose in the primaries, so he would rather throw a temper tantrum and see the Democrats win just to spite people for beating his chosen ones. Makes no sense from a political standpoint, which of course underscores the point we have been making for the past six years that Trump only cares about Trump, and has no ideological beliefs or core values other than whatever he thinks will benefit him for the moment.

The midterms are looking dicey for the Democrats, but with Trump’s assistance they might just stave off disaster.

IR Predicts Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will win Georgia GOP Gubernatorial Primary

Good Morning Boys and Girls! Since like many of you in the Hoosier state we are bracing for snowpocalpyse 2022. We thought we would share some thoughts with you about the Georgia Governor’s race going on this year.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp

Running for renomination and re-election is the incumbent republican governor Brian Kemp. Mister Kemp was elected as Governor in 2018, against probable 2022 Democratic nominee for Governor Stacy Abrams. Prior to being elected Governor, Mister Kemp served as both Georgia Secretary of State, as a Georgia state senator, and worked in the agribusiness, real estate and financial sectors.

Of note to many, us here at the blog as well. Is that Governor Kemp has fallen out of favor with former President, con artist and nut job Donald Trump, simply because Governor Kemp refused to enable Trump’s delusions of having won Georgia in 2020. President Trump even went so far as to call on Governor Kemp to resign for refusing to steal Georgia for him. Mister Kemp like his fellow Georgia Republican Brad Raffensberger, was un moved by his please to just find him another 11,000 votes.

Former Senator David Perdue

In the tradition of narcissist’s Trump has sought out and found his own toady to challenge Governor Kemp in the GOP primary. The honor of being shish kabobed to fuel Trump’s ego is former US Senator David Perdue. Senator Perdue is most famous for having lost the Senate runoff last year for re-election against Democrat Jon Ossoff.

We have not even looked at any polling in Georgia but we are willing to go out on a limb and say that Brian Kemp will easily defeat David Perdue in the primary on May 24th.

We are basing this off of only one thing, and one thing alone. A few days ago Perdue held a conference as part of his primary campaign and the low energy exhibited their alone from the attendees convinces us that Perdue is toast.

We will embed a video of the conference, and also a more thorough deep dive into Perdue’s flagging Governor’s race below.

We will just have to wait and see if our prediction of a Kemp victory holds up or not.

Footage of David Perdue’s conference. Note the lack of enthusiasm in the crowd and the one man who looks asleep:

Will Donald Trump use Roger Stone to take out Governor Ron DeSantis

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis

Last month our good friend and fellow blogger Paul Ogden, wrote a column on his blog speculating that former President Donald Trump would work to derail the re-election bid of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis next year. Paul’s reason for coming to this conclusion is that in a poll conducted by GOP pollster Carter Wrenn on behalf of former National Security Advisor John Bolton’s Super PAC, DeSantis and Trump had become statistically tied in a match up for the 2024 GOP Presidential nomination.

We have been pondering this one over and have come to agree with Paul that Trump will most likely try to derail DeSantis’s re-election next year. As the brilliant GOP political strategist Mike Murphy has said (we are paraphrasing a statement of Murphy’s made on an episode of Bill Kristol’s Conversations w/Bill Kristol) “The problem a prominent republican has is if they start to look like they are upstaging Trump. Is very similar to what would happen if Pravda started to praise one of Stalin’s Marshall’s too much is that the Marshall is dead two days later. Trump won’t abide anyone appearing to outshine him.”

Paul’s post seems to indicate that he believes Trump would probably finish off DeSantis by claiming non stop that the election will be rigged in Florida. Thus driving out republican turnout in Florida, just as Trump did in last year’s U.S. Senate runoff elections which enabled the Democrats to win two Senate seats.

However we have long thought the above strategy that Paul suggests although logical, is not the approach Trump will take. Because that approach is not a personal enough attack against DeSantis. Subtly is not a strong suit of Trump’s. Therefore Trump will want to use an approach that is much more of a direct attack on DeSantis. We just came across a news story in the October 31, 2021 issue of Business Insider by Cheryl Teh.

Cheryl Teh’s article reports that former Nixon dirty tricks man and Trump staffer might run against DeSantis next year for Governor. Teh writes:

Roger Stone

Longtime Trump ally Roger Stone is threatening to run to unseat Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis if the latter does not conduct a vote audit in the state.

"I heard governor Ron DeSantis say that Florida had the most honest election in our history in 2020, yet I know for a certainty there are one million phantom voters on the Florida voter rolls. These 'voters' simply do not exist," wrote Stone in his Telegram channel to some 20,000 subscribers on October 31.

"If Gov. Ron DeSantis does not order a full audit of the Florida 2020 vote, I may be forced to seek the Libertarian Party nomination for governor in 2022. And Ron can kiss his arrogant Yalie ass goodbye #DefendFlorida," Stone added.

If Stone really is serious about running as a Libertarian for Florida Governor next year. The only conclusion we would reach is that instead of trying to defeat DeSantis by depressing GOP voter turnout. Instead they would hope to draw just enough dissatisfied Trump voters to Stone’s ticket. Which in turn would probably throw the election to DeSantis’s Democratic challenger, but would eliminate him from contention as a candidate for the 2024 GOP Presidential race.

Stone would not have sent out such a threat to run against DeSantis unless he had been given the green light from Trump to do so. We are still not convinced that Trump will run again in 2024. Even if for arguments sake he has already decided not to run, he won’t make a definite statement on that until he absolutely has to. Do say anything earlier would limit Trump’s ability to fleece more money from his donors.

We will have to wait and see if Stone does run as a Libertarian for Florida Governor next year. One thing that just crossed our minds is that  if DeSantis isn’t re-elected and the Democrats take the Governor’s mansion. Is that might come back to bite the GOP in the ass. The Democrats have not held the Governor’s office in Florida since 1994. The Democrats winning the Governor’s office would be a big blow to Florida Republicans and could also have negative consequences for them down ballot in 2022 and 2024. Also whatever Democrat would get elected would undoubtedly start doing all they could to undermine the Republican Party in Florida. Now we are not fans of DeSantis, Stone or any of the potential Democrats running especially former Governor Charlie Crist. But if DeSantis and Stone are going to act this insane, then we are willing to deal with a Democrat as Florida Governor for a term.

Now DeSantis will do all he can to try to appease Trump. But it will all be in vain. Trump is loyal only to Trump. He believes everyone else is as devoid of morals and loyalty as he is. Our advice to DeSantis would be to either not run for re-election and avoid a possible loss, or actually grow some balls and start fighting Trump. Ron won’t do either, so we are just going to grab some popcorn and match the ensuing Florida bloodbath.

The Differences Between Real Republicans and Trump Imposters

In the near future we plan on outlining in greater detail why we, as Anti-Trump Conservatives are the true followers of Conservatism and Republicanism. Unlike the tangerine con man Trump.

For now the picture below though short of a thousand words, illustrates briefly the extent to which the modern Trumplican Party has left we Republicans politically homeless:

Trump Is Almost Gone from the White House

It’s finally arrived. After what seems like a millennium, Donald Trump will be leaving office in about 12 hours. Although in a farewell message he did wish the new administration well. A lot of his supporters still cannot believe that he is actually leaving office and his paranoid fantasies about him actually winning have not helped. But Bill Maher has decided to take one last crack at convincing Trump that he is finished.

Here’s Bill Maher succinctly explaining to Trump he is finished:

A Quick Word About the 2020 Election

We meant to write more sooner, but Thanksgiving was a hectic time for all of us here at the blog. It appears our prediction that Joe Biden would defeat Donald Trump was accurate, we were wrong in thinking Biden would take North Carolina and all of Maine’s electoral votes but otherwise our prediction for the Presidential race was spot on. Unfortunately we were correct in predicting Eric Holcomb’s re-election as Governor. Despite our predictions the Democrats lost ground in the House of Representatives but have picked up seats in the Senate and might gain control of the Senate after next month’s runoff elections in Georgia.

In the state legislature republicans gained 4 seats to increase their numbers to 71-29, they lost one state senate seat and are down to 39-11 in the senate. So overall the Republicans did better than we thought they would although they still lost the Presidency. From what we can gather there obviously were many voters who wanted Trump tossed out (The IR Gang can be counted among them). But at the same time didn’t want to give the Democrats free reign over everything. As for the Senate races in Georgia although we would like to keep the Congress divided to keep more extreme Democrats in check. Given Senators Perdue and Loeffler’s insane pandering to Trump we won’t be too upset if they lose. There are already indications that Trump may have spread the idea that the election was rigged in Georgia so well that many Trump supporters are thinking of boycotting the Georgia Senate runoff election. Which if that does happen and the Democrats win both seats that would be quite a rebuke to the Orange Pussy Grabber-In-Chief.

You will be hearing more from us in the near future on state, local and national politics. Until then you have been tuned into IR on your FM dial and we wish you all well and God Bless.

The Village People are Coming for Donald Trump

Like many of you we all here at the blog cannot wait for the election to be over soon. Back in June that 1970’s hit band the Village People told President Donald Trump to stop playing there music at his rallies. The Huffington Post’s David Moye reported on June 5th, 2020 that:

Although the 1970s disco group the Village People has previously been OK with Donald Trump playing its music at rallies, the band just changed its tune.

On Friday (June 5th), lead singer Victor Willis asked the president to stop playing songs like “Macho Man” and “Y.M.C.A.” if he goes through with threat to sic the military on peaceful protesters in America.

So far President Trump has continued to use the Village People’s music inspire of being asked to stop by the group. Here’s some footage of Trump so called dancing to some Village People tunes at his rallies, along with a hilarious skit about it from Saturday Night Live:

Live Blogging First Trump-Biden Presidential Debate w/Update

President Donald Trump      Former Vice President
                                                              Joe Biden

8:30 P.M. About 30 minutes from the time we type these words. President Donald Trump and Former Vice President Joe Biden will meet at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, for the first of three scheduled Presidential debates. As much as we are all sorely tempted to skip tonight’s debate. We have decided to watch the debate so that you don’t have to. In order to stay sober we have decided only to drink if Trump doesn’t brag about himself during the debate. Needless to say we are going to be sober. Like our good friend Paul Ogden wrote earlier today we do not think that the debate is going to move the needle one way or another. None of us are going to vote for either Biden or Trump. That being said all Biden has to do is appear semi coherent and he will do well enough.

8:40 P.M. Trump’s biggest mistake has been to keep lowering the expectations for Biden, while raising expectations for himself to an unrealistic level. So unless Biden both fails Bigly and Trump really does great. At the end of the night chances are Trump will wind up looking like Superman failing to fly. Buckle up friends! This is going to be messed up! See you all in about 20 minutes.

9:03 P.M. The debate moderator Chris Wallace is giving the introduction to the debate. Wallace is outlining the format of the debate. Wallace has picked the topics and questions. None of the questions have been shared with the Debate Commission.

9:05 P.M. Candidate’s asked about the Supreme Court. Trump so far has outlined his case for nominating Barrett to the Court. Trump so far handled himself okay. Biden is reasonably outlining his case against voting on Barrett to the Supreme Court before the election. Biden claiming that Barrett getting on the court will damage the Affordable Care Act. Trump and Biden are starting to have arguments over the ACA.

9:12 P.M. Trump tried to accuse Biden of being an extreme socialist. And saying that “Your, party will control you.” Biden says “I am the Democratic Party”. Good answer by Biden.

9:14 P.M. Wallace is grilling Trump about his lack of an alternative to Obamacare. Trump trying without success to argue with Wallace. Our gut reaction so far is Trump will keep losing it, and Wallace keeps trying to get Trump on point. Biden even though we disagree with him is keeping his cool. He is coming across as likable and sane.

9:17 P.M. Trump is still flailing around like a caged animal accusing Biden of being a Bernie Sanders clone. Biden points out that he beat Bernie Sanders.

9:19 P.M. Biden points out that Trump has no idea what he is talking about. Biden sidesteps the question about whether he will expand the Supreme Court or support eliminating the filibuster in the Senate. Trump had a good opportunity to critique Biden. But he starts rambling and runs down the clock on this debate topic. And has not only failed to land a punch on Biden, but shot himself in both feet.

9:24 P.M. Biden criticizes Trump’s handling of COVID. He suggests that Trump get out of his bunker and golf cart and deal with the issue.

9:25 P.M. Trump is having a hard time not interrupting Biden and Wallace. Biden says he is pro vaccine but doesn’t trust Trump to handle the issue.

9:28 P.M. Our impressions so far is that Biden is keeping his cool, hitting Trump back effectively. Trump so far has only succeeded in not removing the lemur pelt off his head.

9:32 P.M. Trump gets testy and tells Biden not to use the word smart with him. Biden shrugs him off.

9:35 P.M. Trump is bragging about the size of his outdoor rallies. We are surprised he hasn’t said the rallies are YUGE.

9:41 P.M. Trump claims that he built the greatest economy ever. Accuses Biden of just wanting endless shutdowns. Biden hits Trump over job losses during his administration.

9:46 P.M. Wallace asked Trump if he paid $750 in taxes in 2016-2017. Trump is claiming he paid millions in taxes those years. Biden keeps asking Trump to release his tax returns. Trump keeps saying that he will release them “when they are ready”.

9:52 P.M. Wallace apologizes for raising voice to get Trump and Biden to not interrupt each other. Wallace is going to get roasted on Twitter by Trump no doubt. Especially after Wallace told the President has interrupted more than Vice President Biden has.

9:57 P.M. Trump is accusing Biden of being against Law and Order. Says Biden cannot says law enforcement or he will lose his radical left support. Biden answers by saying law enforcement and vows to work with police and the public to support law and order. Biden also hits back by saying that rioting and looting are never acceptable.

10:01 P.M. Biden continues to emphasize his Irish Catholic heritage and his upbringing in Scranton, PA. Biden also just said Law and Order.

10:04 P.M. Trump says that Biden won’t say law and order. Despite the fact Biden just said it three minutes. Biden also said to Trump: “You wouldn’t know the suburbs unless you got lost on the highway.” Biden says he opposes defunding the police. Trump tried to hit him over this issue. But once again wastes time ranting against Biden and fails to land a blow.

10:10 P.M. At this point if we were Chris Wallace, after dealing with all the interruptions from Trump we would tell him: “Look Motherfucker when we say stop talking, you shut up.”

10:14 P.M. Biden accuses Trump of being “Putin’s Puppy”, Trump gets upset and has to be chastised again by Wallace. Biden argues he will be strong on national defense. Says Trump is weak. Points out the military service in his family.

10:18 P.M. Trump is not doing to badly on discussing the need for forest management. He is undercut though by the fact he has been President for three years and why hasn’t he done anything about it.

10:25 P.M. Although we are not on board with Biden’s Green Agenda, but his softer tone of voice would seem to be more persuasive to undecided voters. Biden mentions Trump suggested dropping a nuke into a hurricane. Biden insists that his plan is not the Green New Deal. He supports the Biden Plan.

10:27 P.M. Both candidates asked how confident in the integrity of the election and what will they do to help ensure a fair and free election. Biden says he encourages people to vote, will work to have enough poll watchers at the polls. He criticizes Trump for opposing voting by mail even though Trump votes by mail. Says he will accept the results of the election. Trump whines claiming there hasn’t been a free transition from when he was elected. Good Lord, Donald! You have been in office three years! Can you stop whining already!

10:33 P.M. Trump says they are urging his supporters to watch what is going on with the election. Continues to say that there will be massive voter fraud. Biden has said that he will accept the results of the election and so will President Trump.

10:38 P.M. Debate has ended. Thank You God!!!

Is Mike Pence Gay?

Our apologies for the lack of posts these past few weeks, everything has been so hectic! Before we return to our regularly scheduled programming we thought we would in a mildly serious way look into a weird video of Vice President Mike Pence that is floating around the internet.

Just this afternoon an alert reader of Indy Republican sent all of us a video circulating on line that shows Vice President Mike Pence looking creepily at his master President Donald Trump. Gay comedian Marie Connor had some funny commentary on the funny but creepy way that Mike Pence is fawning over Donald Trump:
Personally all of us here at IR don’t care what the Vice President likes to shove up his ass. That being said however it would be kind of funny, and not to surprising to find that old Mikey is gay. The reason we are not sure is because we aren’t entirely sure that Mike Pence is actually a man. We are half tempted to ask Ann Coulter if he knows whether or not Pence is a man. Time will tell if Pence is hiding the truth about who he is.

On Twitter someone put up this photo of Pence in a Village People type cowboy outfit. In fairness we don’t know if this image is real or doctored. But it’s just to amusing not to put up:

UPDATE: A reader sent us a clearer picture of Pence’s taste in western wear:

The Silent and Invisible Turnout at Trump’s Tulsa Rally

Tonight President Trump is supposed to be appearing at a rally at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to the President interest and attendance for the rally is going to be immense. Here’s what the President had to say earlier this week about interest in his rally:

If that’s true there are going to be a lot of disappointed people, since the BOK Center’s maximum capacity is only a little upwards of 19,000 people. Given the fact of the continuing issue of COVID-19 and that six people on Trump’s staff have tested positive for the virus. We are skeptical that the rally is going to be filled to capacity. Here is a picture of the venue just 40 minutes before the rally:

We may not be rocket scientists here at the blog. But that doesn’t look like a particularly good turnout to us. Of course there might actually be more people than it appears at the rally according to an observer on Twitter:

Well we suppose it’s possible that to troll us in Never Trump land, a lot of the attendees decided to disguise themselves as empty seats. And if true that would be funny. But unless something drastically changes tonight. We are confident in say this will be a YUGE disappointment for Team Trump.

Update: We normally wouldn’t update a post this fast, but there is just too much funny stuff to add not to. Here’s some more evidence of the lifeless, pitiful attendance at our Commander-In-Chief’s rally. Along with some good old humor at Donald and his campaign’s expense:

We swear if this is true, we are actually upset that we didn’t register for the rally and not go! Hell if there is still a way to register for this, we actually are going to do so!

The “Brad” they are referring to is Brad Parscale who is the grifter tasked with trying to save Trump’s re-election bid. No doubt he is going to get an earful from Donald!

We could keep going, but at this point we feel safe in saying the Tulsa rally is a complete dud.
